We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Bookkeeper &amp; HR Administrator to help keep our operations running smoothly.</b></h4>

You'll play a vital role in supporting the financial health of the organization while helping create a positive employee experience from onboarding through day-to-day operations. Working closely with leadership and external accounting partners, you'll help ensure accountability, transparency, and efficiency across the organization.</b></h4>

<h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What You'll Do</b></h4>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Financial Operations</b></h3>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>You'll help maintain the financial foundation that keeps Alaqua's mission moving forward by:</b></h3>
<ul><li>Processing daily financial transactions, including:<ul>
<li>Accounts payable and receivable</li>
<li>Expense coding and receipt management</li>
<li>Bank and credit card reconciliations</li>
</ul></li><li>Maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards</li>
<li>Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting documentation for external accounting partners</li>
<li>Assisting with payroll processing, timekeeping reconciliation, and employee benefit deductions</li>
<li>Ensuring proper documentation and internal financial controls are consistently followed</li>
<li>Serving as the primary point of contact for routine financial questions from staff</li>
<li>Supporting the annual audit by organizing records and responding to auditor requests</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Administrative &amp; Office Support</b></h3>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>As an integral member of the administrative team, you'll:</b></h3>
<ul><li>Provide general administrative support to leadership and department managers</li>
<li>Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for financial and HR records</li>
<li>Assist with vendor setup, W-9 collection, and payment documentation</li>
<li>Support office operations, scheduling, and internal communications as needed</li>
<li>Help improve workflows and implement efficient administrative processes</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Employee Onboarding &amp; HR Support</b></h3>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>You'll help create a seamless and welcoming experience for new team members by:</b></h3>
<ul><li>Coordinating new employee onboarding, including:<ul>
<li>Offer letters and onboarding packets</li>
<li>Employment documentation and compliance forms</li>
<li>Payroll, timekeeping, and internal system setup</li>
</ul></li><li>Scheduling and tracking required trainings, certifications, and compliance requirements</li>
<li>Maintaining confidential employee files and records</li>
<li>Assisting with offboarding documentation and final payroll coordination</li>
<li>Supporting leadership with HR-related administrative functions</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Collaboration &amp; Accountability</b></h3>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>At Alaqua, teamwork is essential. In this role, you'll:</b></h3>
<ul><li>Work closely with external accountants to ensure a smooth and accurate month-end close</li>
<li>Provide timely, reliable information that supports organizational decision-making</li>
<li>Uphold the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and financial stewardship</li>
<li>Identify opportunities to improve systems and strengthen accountability across departments</li>
<li>Build positive working relationships with staff, vendors, and external partners</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What We're Looking For</b></h3>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Required Qualifications</b></h3>
<ul><li>3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting support, or related financial administration experience</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software</li>
<li>Experience with payroll processing and basic HR administration</li>
<li>Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment</li>
<li>Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></h3>
<ul><li>Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization</li>
<li>Familiarity with financial audits and annual reviews</li>
<li>Experience supporting employee onboarding and HR documentation</li>
<li>Knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices and internal controls</li>
