Position
 
Aldridge Pite, LLP’s Litigation West department is seeking an experienced paralegal/legal assistant to provide a range of legal and administrative support to several lawyers practicing in Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Washington courts. The position is remote. The paralegal/legal assistant position is not exempt from overtime laws.
 
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
 
Assist attorneys representing clients in pre-litigation and litigation matters including, but not limited to, the following duties:
 <ul>
<li>Support multiple litigation attorneys to ensure cases are moved through the process to completion according to firm and/or court procedures, internal goals and client/investor requirements.</li>
<li>Draft pleadings such as Motions, Proposed Orders, Briefs, Notices, etc.</li>
<li>Draft discovery requests and/or responses.</li>
<li>Request documents from clients to assist in responding to written discovery.</li>
<li>Handle docket and deposition calendaring and scheduling.</li>
<li>Electronically file pleadings with multiple jurisdictions and within strict deadlines.</li>
<li>Manage/organize high volume incoming electronically filed pleadings; calendar in case management system.</li>
<li>Monitor litigation deadlines to ensure compliance.</li>
<li>Draft correspondences to opposing parties, counsel, clerks, judge, clients, etc.</li>
<li>Update client systems for assigned litigation matters.</li>
<li>Ensure case management system is updated and organized.</li>
<li>Manage and prioritize multiple cases.</li>
<li>Proof legal forms and documents for accuracy.</li>
<li>Provide timely responses/updates to clients</li>
<li>Ensure that billing is completed in a timely manner at all billable events and milestones.</li>
<li>Assist with other duties and special projects as needed</li>
</ul>
Job Requirements
 <ul>
<li>High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.</li>
<li>At least 2 years’ experience working as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal; experience in foreclosure industry highly preferred</li>
<li>Paralegal certificate a plus but not required. Prefer knowledge of multiple state processes.</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques and legal terminology.</li>
<li>In depth knowledge of government regulations.</li>
<li>Relevant computer knowledge and experience.</li>
<li>Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Excellent planning and organizing skills, attention to detail and accuracy.</li>
<li>Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.</li>
</ul>
