<div></div><div>The Senior Database Developer/Programmer acts as a senior member of the Center of Excellence Group within IT Professional Services and is responsible for the overall design, development, test, release, maintenance, and technical support of data and reporting applications to ensure effective data services delivery and support enterprise strategies. This role is also responsible for working with Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Services to ensure server platform and security needs of data and reporting systems are met.</div><div><br>

<b>Primary responsibilities</b>:
</div>
<div></div><ul><li>Participates in a team-based, scrum development environment.</li>
<li>Adheres to established best practices, standards, and agreed-upon design patterns for data and reporting application development and support.</li>
<li>Analyzes and understands business users' requirements, clarifying inconsistencies, conflicts, or ambiguities, to effectively develop solutions that meet business needs.</li>
<li>Responsible for the design, development, test, release, maintenance, and technical support of custom data applications such as data pipelines/ETLs/data processing/APIs.</li>
<li>Performs data modeling and database design for data and reporting applications as well as other applications as needed.</li>
<li>Performs analysis, design, and implementation of data migration as needed.</li>
<li>Participates in design/code reviews.</li>
<li>Documents data and reporting application implementations, configurations, and support requirements as needed.</li>
<li>Creates deployment packages and instructions for releasing data and reporting applications across environments.</li>
<li>Corrects reported incidents on data and reporting applications and releases fixes through the change control processes.</li>
<li>Performs solution assessment as needed.</li>
<li>Conducts proof of concept to guide technical implementation as needed.</li></ul><br>

<div></div><div><b>Minimum requirements:</b></div>
<div></div><ul><li>A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required.</li>
<li>6-7 Years of experience in the solution development life cycle for developing and maintaining data processing and reporting applications.</li>
<li>Extensive experience with:
<ul><li>Relational and multidimensional data modeling</li>
<li>Performance tuning and database design for SQL Server</li>
<li>Building Operational Data Stores, Data Marts, and/or Data Warehouses</li>
<li>Working with non-relational data sources such as flat files, excel files, JSON files, and APIs</li>
</ul></li><li>Familiarity with:
<ul><li>Self-Service Business Intelligence platform</li>
<li>Data quality management and master data management</li>
</ul></li><li>Experience in teaching and mentoring developers and/or users.</li>
</ul>

Knowledge:</div>
<ul><li>Strong knowledge of data engineering &amp; best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.</li>

<ul><li>Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in design &amp; develop data warehouse and database programming.</li>
</ul><ul><li><b>SQL &amp; DB Programming:</b></li>
</ul><ul><li>In-depth knowledge of T-SQL / PL-SQL Programming, performance tuning of complex queries</li>
</ul><ul><li>Knowledge in creating various database objects - Stored Procedures, User Define Functions, Views, indexes</li>
</ul><ul><li><b>ETL:</b></li>
</ul><ul><li>Design and develop Scripts and Programs required to extract, transform, clean, and move data, in a manner that quality data can be loaded into the Data Warehouse.</li>
</ul><div><ul><li>This will require previous experience in &ldquo;incremental and history data load&rdquo;</li></ul>
</div><ul><li>Will need ETL performance handling experience using MS - SSIS/any standard ETL Tool and strong in handling large volume of data extraction and loading (500gb to 5tb)</li>
</ul><ul><li>Should have above average skills in ETL, ETL performance tuning as well as above average skills in fine tuning complex queries of analytical Database Warehouse etc</li>
</ul><ul><li><b>DW &amp; BI:</b></li>
</ul><ul><li>Should have designed and developed small to medium Data Base/Data Warehouses</li>
<li>Should have been part of at least 1-2 end to end BI projects or product deployments</li>
</ul><ul><li>Should have good skills in logical and physical design of Data Base &amp; Data Warehouse as well as logical &amp; physical data model according to the customer deployment scenarios &amp; scope</li>

Quickly learn Manthan product features and understand client&rsquo;s business and requirements<br>
Perform business analysis activities for the Product Lifecycle, Supply Chain &amp; technology areas, including requirements elicitation, tracking, clarification and communication, specification writing and validation of solutions, utilizing appropriate diagramming and documentation methodologies<br>
Creation and execution of test plans and scripts in support of solution delivery. Testing solutions to verify requirements are met and working with developers to resolve issues and support once solutions are in production.<br>
Adhere &amp; assist with change management, business process improvement and project management<br>
Provide guidance to team members as a coach and mentor, in addition to task assignment and evaluation when appropriate<br>
Collaborate with other IT and business resources to understand issues, plan work and deliver solutions.<br>
