The HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in managing and supporting various HR functions, ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures. This position is responsible for handling day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.
Essential Job Functions
Recruitment and Staffing:<ul><li>
Collaborate with department heads to understand hiring needs and develop job descriptions.</li><li>
Manage the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating with candidates.</li><li>
Facilitate onboarding processes and ensure a smooth transition for new hires.</li></ul>
Employee Relations:<ul><li>
Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, concerns, and grievances.</li><li>
Provide guidance on company policies and procedures and address employee issues promptly and professionally.</li><li>
Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement through various initiatives and programs.</li></ul>
Performance Management:<ul><li>
Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes.</li><li>
Support managers in conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and addressing performance-related issues.</li><li>
Facilitate training and development opportunities for staff.</li></ul>
Compensation and Benefits:<ul><li>
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.</li><li>
Assist in compensation planning and salary administration, including market analysis and salary benchmarking.</li><li>
Process payroll changes, benefits enrollments, and terminations.</li></ul>
Compliance and Record-Keeping:<ul><li>
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.</li><li>
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personal data, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.</li><li>
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory agencies as needed.</li></ul>
HR Administration:<ul><li>
Manage HR systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy and security.</li><li>
Prepare and maintain HR documentation, including employee handbooks, policy manuals, and training materials.</li><li>
Coordinate and support HR projects and initiatives, such as employee surveys and diversity programs.</li></ul>
Other Duties:<ul><li>
Stay current with HR trends, best practices, and legal requirements.</li><li>
Participate in HR meetings and contribute to strategic planning efforts.</li><li>
Perform other related duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.</li><li>
3+ years experience as an HR Generalist.</li><li>
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
</li><li>Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.</li><li>
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.</li><li>
Experience in medical and behavioral healthcare is an advantage.</li></ul></div>
