We are currently looking for a Full-Time Quality Control Chemist to join team in our Plainville, CT. The QC Chemist will be working alongside the QC and Product Supply teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple site-specific projects at one time and feel comfortable taking the lead when necessary.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities for this position include:<ul><li>
Test raw materials and finished product samples per USP/compendial methods and in-house procedures</li><li>
Perform tests for stability and complaints</li><li>
Tests performed will include UV Assay, FTIR, Solution Chemistry (pH, Conductivity, TOC).</li><li>
Calibration, maintenance and operation of lab instrumentation, including balance, pH meter, UV/vis spectrophotometer, FTIR, TOC, and microplate readers</li><li>
Standard and sample solution preparation</li><li>
Write and revise QC Chemistry SOP&rsquo;s and reports</li><li>
Documentation of laboratory work using laboratory worksheets/notebooks; documentation must be detailed, accurate and meet cGMP requirements</li><li>
Filing, data entry, and ordering (entering lab results in Excel, organization and filing of MSDS and CoAs, ordering of lab materials as needed)</li><li>
Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks including organization and cleaning of work areas, checking for expired reagents and standards, disposal of product samples, chemicals and hazardous waste</li><li>
Perform batch record review and in-process QC releases</li><li>
Perform peer review of notebooks and forms as necessary</li><li>
Author and assist in execution of validation testing as required</li><li>
Support aseptic processes as needed</li><li>
Other duties may be assigned</li></ul>
Skills and Experience:
Competences required to fulfil the area of responsibilities and work assignments:</div><ul><li>
BS / BA in life sciences, biology, chemistry or related field preferred</li><li>
This position requires at least five years experience in a laboratory setting</li><li>
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), USP, FDA and ICH guidelines is required</li><li>
The ideal candidate must be willing to be held accountable and must work well with others to ensure that all objectives are met on a regular and timely basis</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel</li><li>
Excellent laboratory technique and analytical skills</li><li>
Excellent scheduling and time management skills with daily operations and special projects</li></ul><div>
