POSITION TITLE: Maintenance AssistantPOSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non- exemptPURPOSE OF THE POSITION:As the Maintenace assistant the primary focus will be to help the department with ordering supplies, parts, and maintaining inventory of tools and equipment across Allan Bros for the maintenance and sanitation departments. This position will also assist in tracking activity logs/critical process forms and maintaining order receipts. They will also assist in any maintenance related tasks when primary tasks are completed.Needs to have experience ordering parts, inventory management, tracking receipts, some mechanical experience is preferred however will be able to train under our current team. Must have a valid drivers license as this position will require local travel within Yakima county and surrounding areas.WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Will be working closely with Maintenance and Sanitation supervisors, Leads, and TechniciansWill work closely with local parts vendors, finance teams, company supplies teams to help source tools and equipment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions listed below are not intended to reflect all duties that may be assigned to this position. Compliance/safety assistance (Often)2. Computer skill/use (Daily)3. Ability to operate a forklift4. Communication with coworkers (Daily)5. Knowledge of motors, chains, mechanical parts6. Strong drive to research parts and equipment7. Knowledge of tools and how to properly use them (tape measure, basic hand tools etc)8. Manage parts/tool inventory (motors, sprockets, chains, bolts bins, etc)9. Must help maintenance team when parts and inventory tasks are completedQUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:KNOWLEDGE OF: Needs to have experience ordering parts and managing inventories. Must also have some basic mechanical experienceType of tools and equipment used and percentage of time spent using these tools:1. Computer / Phone / Radio 10-100%2. Assist in mechanical related tasks 10-100%3. Hand tools 10-100%4. Document management (verification of forms and logs) 10-100%ABILITY TO: Activities that employee must have the ability to do and percentage of time spend performing them on a daily basis:1.
