Allergy & ENT Associates of Middle TN

We are hiring a Full Time Medical Assistant for our Allergy Department.Primary Function:<ul><li>Responsible for rendering professional clinical care to patients within the medical practice, as directed by the physicians.</li><li>Assist in the day-to-day clinical operations of allergy office visits.</li></ul>Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Document in or EMR system- eClinicalWorks (eCW).</li><li>Perform phlebotomy and laboratory tests as required.</li><li>Perform allergy testing.</li><li>Administer allergy shots.</li><li>Screen clinical telephone calls for providers. May answer patient&rsquo;s inquiries with respect to medical questions within the limits of medical knowledge. Return phone calls for patient questions. Document patient phone calls in the medical record.</li><li>Ensure that all equipment in the treatment rooms are clean and properly stocked prior to each day.</li><li>Adequate medical knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job, such as: recording accurate patient histories in the medical record, venipuncture, reading clinical instrument gauges, and provide patient education regarding allergy treatment plans.</li><li>Coordinate patient flow.</li><li>May have exposure to bloodborne pathogens.</li></ul>Education / Certification / Licensure Requirements:<ul><li>High school education or G.E.D. equivalent- required.</li><li>Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program- preferred.</li><li>One year prior experience in a medical practice- preferred.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Communication skills including: fluent in oral and written English- required.</li><li>Communication skills including: fluent in oral Spanish- preferred.</li><li>Strong computer skills including the ability to send/receive messages, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use our Electronic Medical Records system eCW.</li><li>Hard worker.</li><li>Good with multitasking.</li><li>Able to follow through on assignments.</li><li>Excellent team player.</li><li>Positive attitude.</li><li>Professional appearance and demeanor. Must make a great first impression both in person and on the phone with patients.</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Familiarity with medical terminology and equipment.</li><li>Willingness to learn.</li><li>Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields is encouraged.</li><li>Due to the sensitivity of our allergy patients, we cannot employ anyone who smells of strong odors including smoke, perfume, or cologne.</li></ul>Uniform:<ul><li>Black scrubs. The practice provides a $120 annual scrub reimbursement.</li></ul>Job Perks:<ul><li>Great schedule: No nights. No weekends. No holidays. No call. 1/2 day on Fridays.</li><li>Schedule: Monday and Thursday: 7:20am - 5:15pm. Tuesday and Wednesday: 7:20am - 4:45pm.
