<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Job Description</h2>
Allied Universal&reg; is hiring a Purchasing Specialist. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the timely procurement, delivery, and documentation of business materials and are responsible for evaluating suppliers to find the best deals possible on goods that are needed for Installation Projects. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Regional stock and inventory control including excess and obsolete materials</li>
<li>Logistical planning on major projects</li>
<li>Locate and reallocate excess materials in other branches to fill Purchase Requisitions when appropriate</li>
<li>Project equipment allocation</li>
<li>Actively pursue operational efficiency to improve productivity</li>
<li>Obtain quotations through competitive bidding of qualified vendors for supplies and services including analysis and recommendations</li>
<li>Process requisitions and purchase orders for all regional locations</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with internal &amp; external customers, coworkers, and leadership
</li><li>Manage raw material inventory to ensure that aged and overall inventory goals are achieved</li>
<li>Optimize procurement costs by analyzing total cost to company when evaluating buy options</li>
<li>Ensure product returns are done in a timely manner</li>
<li>Procure products in a timely manner, considering product lead times and company cash-flow</li>
<li>Negotiate with contractors on price, mode of shipping, and delivery time</li>
<li>Assist the regional branches with the scheduled inventory counting process as required</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)</li>
<li>No prior experience is required</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li>
<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li>
<li>Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships</li>
<li>Organized and analytical decision-making capabilities</li>
<li>Must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines</li>
<li>Must possess excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally</li></ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul><li>SAP by Design experience</li>
<li>Purchasing and inventory control experience</li>
<li>Knowledge of warehousing and shipping/receiving best practices</li>
<li>Knowledge of materials, products, and the security market in area of specialization</li></ul>
