The Junior Procurement Officer ensures timely supply, accurate documentation, and cost-effective purchasing while maintaining strong vendor relationships and compliance with factory standards.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities</p>
<p><b>1. Material Purchasing &amp; Sourcing</b></p>
<ul><li>Assist in sourcing raw materials such as timber, MDF, plywood, hardware, adhesives, paints, and finishing materials.</li>
<li>Obtain and compare quotations from approved suppliers.</li>
<li>Ensure materials meet required technical specifications and quality standards.</li>
<li>Prepare purchase requests and purchase orders in the ERP system.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>2. Vendor Coordination</b></p>
<ul><li>Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and stock availability.</li>
<li>Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials.</li>
<li>Support in evaluating vendor performance (quality, delivery, pricing).</li>
</ul>
<p><b>3. Inventory &amp; Stock Monitoring</b></p>
<ul><li>Coordinate with the warehouse team to track stock levels and identify material shortages.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining minimum stock levels for critical carpentry items.</li>
<li>Report slow-moving or non-moving items for management review.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>4. Documentation &amp; Compliance</b></p>
<ul><li>Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, delivery notes, and invoices.</li>
<li>Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and quality standards.</li>
<li>Assist in updating supplier lists and procurement documentation.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>5. Cost Control &amp; Efficiency</b></p>
<ul><li>Support cost-saving initiatives through negotiation and alternative sourcing.</li>
<li>Help identify opportunities for reducing material waste and optimizing procurement cycles.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>6. Coordination With Production Team</b></p>
<ul><li>Communicate production requirements to suppliers in coordination with factory and planning teams.</li>
<li>Ensure urgent or special project material requests are prioritized.</li>
<li>Resolve any discrepancies in quantity, quality, or delivery issues.</li>
</ul><p>Qualifications &amp; Skills</p>
<p><b>Education</b></p>
<ul><li>Diploma or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Experience</b></p>
<ul><li>2 years of experience in procurement; experience in carpentry, joinery, or manufacturing is an advantage.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Technical Skills</b></p>
<ul><li>Basic understanding of carpentry materials, woodworking processes, and hardware types.</li>
<li>Familiarity with ERP or procurement software (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, etc.)</li>
<li>Strong negotiation and communication skills.</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).</li>
</ul>
