JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for supporting the administration of the Research Services department and with the provision of retrieval research services and access to resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
<ul><li>Pull cases, dockets, court documents, and respond to other ready reference questions as assigned utilizing the most efficient and cost-effective resources
</li><li>Procure document retrieval of journal articles, book chapters/sections, and other legal and non-legal documents per the prescribed departmental process
</li><li>Support large data projects/requests, department initiatives, and other projects as assigned
</li><li>Provide excellent service to attorneys, management, staff, and other professionals.
</li><li>Work consistently and effectively in a team environment.
</li></ul>SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCESSFUL
<ul><li>Familiarity with the effective use of retrieval resources, including but not limited to, Westlaw, Lexis, LexMachina, Pacer, CourtLink and others
</li><li>Proficiently utilizes both legal and non-legal research resources as well as internal Firm databases
</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
</li><li>Responsiveness and demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines
</li><li>Client service orientation combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills
</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
</li><li>Ability to work in a collaborative, service-oriented team, yet also independently with minimal supervision
</li></ul>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE
<ul><li>College degree required
</li><li>Some library, law firm or research experience preferred
</li></ul>PHYSICAL EFFORT
<ul><li>Repetitive motions substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
</li><li>Crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting
</li><li>Talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word
</li><li>Ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately
</li><li>Hearing ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
</li><li>Sitting most of the time
</li></ul>LOCATION SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The salary range for this role is $68,000 to $70,000 annually, which is based on a 37.5-hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles . This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee&rsquo;s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
