About the Role</div><div>
We're hiring a Mid-level Systems Administrator to join AEGIS Enterprise Software Support at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. You'll lead systems administration across Microsoft Systems and Active Directory, design integrated hardware/software solutions, and manage end-user endpoint infrastructure supporting critical NASA IT and aerospace operations.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
What You'll Do</b></div><ul><li> Ensure day-to-day operation and support of servers and systems, including event, fault, and performance management</li><li> Install, monitor, and troubleshoot operating systems, hardware, and computer infrastructure</li><li> Identify gaps in systems and apply analytical and problem-solving methodologies to resolve them</li><li> Design a reliable, scalable, secure, and highly available Linux, Windows, and virtual environment</li><li> Lead application teams on continuous software enhancements, patch management, and deployments across development environments</li><li> Collaborate with systems administrators, database and application administrators, network engineers, customers, and outside vendors to engineer solutions and resolve problems</li><li> Define system test procedures and task success criteria</li><li> Maintain technical architecture diagrams, system build documentation, and application update records</li><li> Ensure data/media recoverability through scheduled system backups and database archive operations</li><li> Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers for standards and policy compliance</li><li> Maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware/software configuration database and supporting documentation</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Required Qualifications</b></div><ul><li> Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field</li><li> 6+ years of professional systems administration, application deployment, or IT infrastructure experience</li><li> Strong working knowledge of Microsoft systems administration, including PowerShell command-line and environment tracking</li><li> Working familiarity with Linux/UNIX, VMware, or OpenShift system administration</li><li> U.S. citizenship (required for this federal contract)</li><li> Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or higher</li><li> Able to work on-site at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (Greenbelt, MD)</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Preferred Qualifications</b></div><ul><li> Active industry certifications (e.g., Red Hat, CompTIA Security+)</li><li> Direct experience supporting government, aerospace, or real-time NASA mission-critical environments</li><li> Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines, automated infrastructure tools, and Agile frameworks</li><li> Experience with Microsoft Systems/Windows foundations, storage arrays (Nexsan, Dell Unity), VMware, iDRAC (IPMI), and RHEL/Linux</li><li> Ability to produce and maintain PowerShell scripts</li><li> UNIX environment experience for automation and data migration between systems</li><li> Knowledge of Cisco Software Defined Networking technologies</li></ul></div>
