Standard Hours: Specific hours to be discussed at interview; Does require 1 weekend shift either working Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday</li></ul>
Training<ul><li>
Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.</li></ul>
To be a successful Nurse, you will need the following skills and qualifications:<ul><li>
Accredited LPN or RN education and current Montana licensure.</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li>
Ability to pass a federal workplace drug screen and background check.</li><li>
Ability to relate to offenders; previous corrections experience is a plus.</li><li>
Preferred: Mental health experience.</li></ul>

What Will You Do in This Position?
As a Nurse for Alternatives, you will primarily work at the Passages facility but may also assist with resident needs at Alpha House as required.
Duties include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Obtaining, reviewing, and storing accurate medical files and records, including obtaining medical records from other institutions as needed.</li><li>
Upholding strict HIPAA and agency policy requirements to ensure the privacy of our residents.</li><li>
Following up with residents who have suffered accidents or injuries.</li><li>
Managing special diets and related issues in cooperation with food services.</li><li>
Assisting offenders in managing chronic conditions, such as diabetes.</li><li>
Providing first aid as needed.</li><li>
Completing all requirements for the Department of Corrections, including preparing medical transfer sheets and ensuring transfer medications for residents moving to another facility.</li></ul>
This role requires great confidentiality, care, and coordination with other Agency departments.

PTO<ul><li>
Accrual: Start accruing PTO from your first paycheck. Full-time (40-hour) employees with 0-2 years of employment accrue 4.65 hours per pay period, totaling 15 days a year.</li><li>
Increased Accrual with Tenure: Accrual rates increase at 3 years, 5 years, and every subsequent 5-year mark, up to 25+ years.</li><li>
Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.</li></ul>
Paid Holidays<ul><li>
Full-Time Employees: Enjoy 11 paid holidays.</li><li>
Part-Time Employees: Employees working 20-30 hours per week also receive paid holidays on a pro rata basis.</li></ul>
