<div><p>Our client, a hotel property in Battle Creek, MI is looking for an Engineering Supervisor. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the hotel&rsquo;s physical infrastructure, building systems, and equipment are properly maintained, safe, and operating at peak performance. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, this position oversees a team of four technicians and supports daily operations, preventive maintenance programs, project execution, safety compliance, and guest service responsiveness. The Engineering Supervisor serves as a working leader&mdash;conducting hands-on repairs while coordinating workflow, training staff, and maintaining operational excellence across the property.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Team Leadership &amp; Supervision</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Lead, schedule, and supervise a team of four engineering technicians, ensuring efficient completion of daily work orders, routine maintenance, and project tasks.</p></li><li><p>
Provide coaching, training, and performance guidance to team members, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability.</p></li><li><p>
Assign and prioritize daily tasks based on operational needs and guest impact.</p></li><li><p>
Conduct shift briefings and maintain strong communication with the Chief Engineer and other departments.</p></li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Hotel Operations &amp; Maintenance</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Oversee maintenance of all hotel building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, fire/life safety, pools/spas, and general facilities.</p></li><li><p>
Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting when needed to support the team and expedite resolution of complex issues.</p></li><li><p>
Ensure guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and exterior areas remain in excellent working condition through regular inspections and timely maintenance responses.</p></li><li><p>
Support the coordination of vendor visits, equipment servicing, and capital project installations.</p></li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preventive Maintenance &amp; Compliance</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Lead the execution of the hotel&rsquo;s preventive maintenance program, ensuring all equipment and systems receive routine servicing and documentation is kept up to date.</p></li><li><p>
Ensure compliance with brand standards, OSHA regulations, and local fire/life safety codes.</p></li><li><p>
Participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and regulatory inspections.</p></li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Administrative &amp; Operational Support</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Review work orders for accuracy and timely completion; escalate major issues to the Chief Engineer.</p></li><li><p>
Assist with procurement of parts, materials, and tools while monitoring inventory levels.</p></li><li><p>
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and equipment histories.</p></li><li><p>
Provide input on annual budgeting, capital planning, and long-term maintenance strategies.</p></li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Guest Service &amp; Collaboration</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Respond promptly and professionally to guest service requests related to room functionality and hotel maintenance.</p></li><li><p>
Collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, F&amp;B, and other departments to support operational needs and minimize guest disruption.</p></li><li><p>
Uphold service standards by ensuring maintenance work is performed neatly, safely, and courteously.</p></li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Qualifications</b></h2><ul><li><p>
3&ndash;5 years of hotel engineering or general building maintenance experience required.</p></li><li><p>
Previous supervisory or lead role experience strongly preferred.</p></li><li><p>
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety systems, and general building trades.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and building plans.</p></li><li><p>
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.</p></li><li><p>
EPA certification, boiler license, pool operator certification, or trade-specific licenses preferred.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, or on-call rotations as needed.</p></li></ul></div><p></p>
