 Role Purpose:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 To provide a physiotherapy service to patients who may have physical difficulties resulting from illness, injury, disability or ageing to improve their physical function and to provide them with treatment programmes using manual therapy (such as massage), therapeutic exercise and electrotherapy. To ensure the delivery of international standards of care in accordance with established national and international practices, policies and procedures.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Key responsibilities of the role:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Responsible for a caseload of patients ensuring the delivery of international standards of care in physiotherapy services. This includes the assessment, re-evaluation, treatment and intervention services for in-patients, outpatients and Home Service. To use recognized outcome measures to evaluate the effect of the physiotherapy interventions and ensure the treatment programs are progressing appropriately. Develop, implement, and modify individualised treatment plans based on patient assessment and diagnosis. Assess the effectiveness of treatment plans and adjust accordingly.
 
 
 
 
 
 Educate patients on exercise techniques, ergonomics, posture, and injury prevention strategies. Encourage active participation of patients in their rehabilitation process and self-management. To carry a designated clinical caseload including complex patients and prioritises that work efficiently taking into account clinical and service priorities and using specialist knowledge to underpin decisions. Provide individual patient equipment as required, walking aids, splints and supports. To issue such equipment with due regard to safety of the equipment, and in line with legal, international and local guidelines taking into account the approval process for medical insurance. Advise, guide and teach junior staff in the assessment and management of patients and other aspects of clinical practice. To be an active member of the on-call, weekend duty rotas, and cover of statutory and public holidays including working as lone physiotherapy practitioner at night. Undertake other clinical duties as requested by the Senior Physiotherapist Update other healthcare providers on changes in the patient&rsquo;s condition. In conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, ensure that there is an embedded philosophy and practice of continuous improvement. Communicate with the patient team regarding equipment recommendations and home environment as part of admission and discharge planning. Work collaboratively with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated treatment plans. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans. Refer patients to other specialists when necessary to ensure comprehensive care. Utilizes evidence-based practice to develop and implement standards that guide practice improvement initiatives. Uses unit resources in a cost effective and responsible manner Perform other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities Actively participates in the process for ensuring the organization achieves and maintains CBAHI status or other rehabilitation accreditations

 Purpose of the role:

 The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing clinical care to a defined group of patients and ensuring the maintenance of high standards of patient care within the unit during their span of duty. The post holder is responsible for assessment of care needs of patients, planning programmers of care, implementation and evaluation of these programmers without direct supervision.
 </li>
 <li>
 The Staff Nurse will be working independently/autonomously and at times without direct supervision, accountable for their own professional practice. Ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and always working in a manner that promotes the patients privacy, dignity and cultural beliefs.
 </li>
 <li>
 This includes prioritizing the care needs of patients and appropriately allocating staff maintaining an awareness of the progress of each patients&rsquo; care.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for the implementation and delivery of age-appropriate patient care in the assigned area of practice congruent with the Mission, Vision and Values of Hospital. Ensuring adherence to the Professional Code of Conduct and Scope of Practice of the Ministry of Health Saudia Arabia.

 Working in conjunction with the Charge Nurse, this position plays a crucial role in delivering day-to-day levels of excellence in service provision of care across the Wards and Departments.

 Key responsibilities of the role:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 During some periods you will have management responsibility for being in-charge of the Wards/Department. This will involve supervising junior members of staff. In the event of this you will be required to monitor and review staff still mix in accordance with patient dependency and acuity, utilize available information to align staffing and workload, and communicate with Senior Nursing staff as required.
 </li>
 <li>
 The post holder will be a key member in relation to the development of practice service standards ensuring they are consistently met.
 </li>
 <li>
 Acting as a role model, delivering high clinical and operational performance standards, by working effectively as part of the team.
 </li>
 <li>
 Facilitates effective patient flow, utilizing bed capacity and staffing resources appropriately. Communicates with all unit(s) / departments as appropriate, to maximize efficiency and to expedite the admission, transfer and discharge process.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborates with personnel from non-nursing departments/disciplines regarding issues that may negatively impact patient care; facilitate solutions as needed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides leadership in critical thinking, conflict management and problem solving.
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrate skills and competencies in continual assessment of planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs nursing interventions/procedures in accordance with established standards of care, policies and procedures. This may involve assisting physicians undertaking diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identifies complications and deviations from the norm and takes appropriate action.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains accurate and thorough documentation and communication following Identify, Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation (ISBAR) principles.
 </li>
 <li>
 Completes nursing documentation timely and accurately, ensuring that quality standards of nursing documentation are maintained according to Hospital policy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains required nursing competencies and competencies in the use of all medical equipment including but not limited to, materials necessary for the resuscitation and stabilization of patients.
 </li>
 <li>
 Safely administer medication according to Hospital policy. Document medication administration accurately, according to protocols. Understands actions of medication and contraindications, evaluates patient&rsquo;s response, identifies side effects and initiates appropriate action.
 </li>
 <li>
 Understand and able to explain the nursing department&rsquo;s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
 </li>
 <li>
 To participate in Department/Hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives including implementation and evaluation of action plans and quality improvement projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 To work with the Charge Nurse in ensuring safe nursing and clinical practice and that Hospital follows evidence based international practice and accreditation standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 To assist the Charge Nurse on Quality Assurance and Regulation to ensure delivery of Hospital Risk Strategy and Clinical Risk Training Strategy. To participate in programmers and initiatives to reduce and manage risk and harm to patients.
 </li>
 <li>
 To assist in serious incident investigations as required and contribute to the response to recommendations and lessons to be learned from investigations and external and regulatory reviews where nursing has come under scrutiny.
 </li>
 <li>
 Uses information technology to access, transmit and produce information as necessary eg. Incident reporting system.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in nursing or Diploma in Nursing
 </li>
 <li>
 Current and valid license to practice Nursing from home country of qualification required
 </li>
 <li>
 Current Basic Life Support training certification (BLS)
 </li>
 <li>
 Registered as Nurse Specialist from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties is advantageous.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Required Experience:
 
 
 
 Minimum two (2) years post qualification direct clinical experience in an
 
 ICU, Long-Term Care (LTC), Rehabilitation, and Pediatrics.
