Toy and Hobbies Buyer
The Toys &amp; Hobbies Buyer is responsible for sourcing, selecting, and purchasing products for AMain&rsquo;s toys and hobbies assortment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring we have the right products at the right time, at the right cost, to meet both customer demand and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for market trends, strong negotiation skills, and a passion for toys, hobbies, and collectibles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Product Selection &amp; Purchasing<ul><li>
Identify and source new products, brands, and vendors that enhance AMain&rsquo;s toys and hobbies assortment.</li><li>
Place purchase orders, monitor order flow, and manage replenishment to maintain optimal inventory levels.</li><li>
Stay on top of industry and consumer trends to recommend timely product additions.</li></ul>
Vendor &amp; Supplier Relations<ul><li>
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and distributors.</li><li>
Negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional opportunities to maximize margin and profitability.</li><li>
Partner with suppliers on exclusives, new product launches, and co-marketing opportunities.</li></ul>
Inventory &amp; Financial Management<ul><li>
Monitor inventory levels, sell-through rates, and product lifecycle performance.</li><li>
Collaborate with Inventory Planning to ensure balance between stock availability and cost efficiency.</li><li>
Work closely with Category Manager to achieve sales, margin, and inventory turn goals.</li></ul>
Collaboration &amp; Execution<ul><li>
Partner with Marketing on promotions, seasonal assortments, and product launches.</li><li>
Provide product knowledge and support to internal teams including Customer Experience and Retail Stores.</li><li>
Maintain accurate product data, pricing, and vendor records.</li></ul>
Requirements:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>
2&ndash;4 years of buying, procurement, or merchandising experience (toys, hobbies, or consumer goods preferred).</li><li>
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.</li><li>
Proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze sales/inventory reports.</li><li>
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple priorities.</li><li>
Passion for toys, hobbies, or collectibles is a strong plus!</li></ul>

Repetitive office working including typing, using a computer mouse and telephone.</li><li>
Sitting time: 75%+</li><li>
Uses hands 75%+</li><li>
Meeting and phone use: 25%+</li><li>
Moderate noise &ndash; Office environment with computers, printers and light traffic.</li><li>
