<div>The ABHS AmeriCorps Program engages members in service roles that strengthen community wellness, cultural continuity, environmental stewardship, and youth development across the White Mountain Apache Tribe. Members support culturally grounded, evidence-informed activities aligned with AmeriCorps priority areas. Youth STEM members expand access to culturally grounded robotics, coding, and technology-based learning while supporting Apache language revitalization. Through hands-on workshops and outcome tracking, they build academic confidence, cultural identity, and measurable program impact. These roles build local capacity and support long-term, culturally rooted solutions for community well-being.<br>

Support youth in designing, building, testing robotics projects. Assist in planning/managing youth robotics tournament, including set-up and event logistics. Tech Workshops (3D Printing, Laser Cutting, Digital Tools): Facilitate workshops for youth, demonstrate safe equipment use, project-based learning. Support youth in completing technology-based project (printed model, engraved item, robotic component). Maintain equipment logs and ensure tools are used safely. Apache Language &amp; Cultural Tech: co-develop digital tools that support Apache language and cultural preservation. Collect, organize, record Apache words, phrases, songs, stories in collaboration with fluent speakers, elders, cultural advisors. Help design interactive digital materials (language-learning mini-games, app-based activities, short films, animations, digital stories, robotics/coding activities that incorporate Apache vocabulary).

<div>At Nantahala Regional Library (NRL), we provide over 50,000 residents of Cherokee, Clay, and Graham Counties in North Carolina with collections and services to aid in the pursuit of information, education, recreation, and creative development. We aim to provide these services by being relentlessly resourceful. Part of this work is to support digital literacy in our residents by teaching basic digital understanding and skills that will improve their well-being. We are a partner in the One Digital LINCC Collaborative and also work with the Mountain Roots Collaborative who will be actively involved in this work. Digital Navigation Corps aims to provide digital job readiness skills and create pathways of economic opportunities for adults 16 years and older from low-income and historically under-invested communities. Digital Navigation Corps is a program of Literacy Minnesota, an organization that connects people to transformative learning, sparks innovation in literacy and mobilizes change. Literacy Minnesota envisions a future where literacy eliminates injustices and strengthens communities. The literacy work that began 50 years ago in Minnesota is now nationwide, providing curriculum, classes, workshops and research to partners and learners. Digital Navigation Corps is Literacy Minnesota&rsquo;s response to the digital skills-gap that impacts communities across the country. Built on a longstanding tradition of service, and pioneering the newest resources in digital learning, Digital Navigation Corps addresses critical digital literacy needs by bringing Digital Navigators to work alongside community members who are striving to reach their professional goals. Digital navigators will support community members through one-on-one mentorship, classroom-based instruction, and resource guide creation and referrals.<br>

Nantahala Regional Library - Digital Navigator (LitMN)

<div>Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture works to enhance our community&rsquo;s health by connecting people to agriculture and the land through hands-on learning opportunities from seed to plate. The VISTA project will seek to support established and expanding programs with Columbia Public Schools and help existing programs adapt to using Columbia&rsquo;s Agriculture Park. The VISTA project positively impacts families living with low-incomes and children enrolled in Columbia Public Schools (a school district with high rates of free and reduced lunch). VISTA members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as creating lessons, creating garden plans, expanding the Farm to School program into new buildings, caring for school gardens, organizing events, recruit volunteers, and update programming guides.<br>

CCUA Children's Garden Education Curriculum VISTA

<div>WV&rsquo;s Promise Summer Associate project allows a community organization to recognize its strengths- great way to focus on the positive while working on the challenges (you can always find an organization fulfilling 2 or more of the promises to some degree so there is momentum in building on what they are already doing). Various activities focusing on the 5 Promises within Education: Programming to prevent summer learning loss for students; STEM, Reading, Arts, Healthy Futures, Gardening, 4-H Programs, supporting or expanding Summer Feeding Sites, meal sites that serve both children, youth and communities, and supporting drug prevention. The Summer Associate VISTA program allows for organizations throughout WV to supplement their anti-poverty activities with an infusion of &quot;hands-on volunteers&quot; during the summer months.<br>

Summer Associate: Morristown Centennial Library

<div>AB Christian Learning Center (ABCLC) seeks to improve the literacy of all children in the City of Fort Worth and reduce the achievement gap with summer enrichment programs. In collaboration with the Rev Partnership, we are working to ensure that all children are ready to learn when they enter kindergarten, reading on grade level by the third grade, and academically ready for the next grade. The Rev Partnership is a collective impact effort committed to the best public education system for Tarrant County&rsquo;s students, schools, and community by fostering relationships between our public education system, business ecosystem, and social support infrastructure for our students to thrive.<br>

They will provide summer tutoring and an Integrated Reading Curriculum to low-income children. The summer associates will provide instruction to the students daily, engaging them in various reading and STEM activities. They will participate in field trips with students and guide participation in a social action project. The summer associates will be responsible for developing lesson plans and working with students in a classroom setting with a 1-to-10 ratio, helping to prevent summer learning loss. In addition to the duties stated above, the summer associates will gather attendance data collected during the summer and report to the sponsor organization.

Summer Associate - ABCLC Reading Program

<div>BuildaBridge is a 28-year-old Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing trauma-informed arts programming to marginalized youth and their communities. BuildaBridge uniquely positions creative expression as trauma healing through art-making. We serve 600+ youth annually through partnerships with recreation centers, schools, and human service organizations in Philadelphia's highest-need neighborhoods. Our pedagogical approach, the BuildaBridge Safe Spaces Model (SSM) uses creative self-expression (music, movement, visual arts, writing) to build resilience, self-efficacy, and hope in youth who have experienced trauma (directly, vicariously, and generationally). Grounded in Hope Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and the Capabilities Approach, programming provides accessible alternatives to clinical mental health systems that often create barriers for low-income families. We function as &quot;pre-responders,&quot; intervening before youth enter systems that can traumitize and retraumatize. Our evaluation demonstrates impact: 82% increased hopefulness, 85% improved self-efficacy, 91% stronger community connections. With an annual budget under $200,000, our lean structure allows flexibility while maintaining consistent quality through our trauma-informed training protocols. Key partnerships include the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime &amp; Delinquency, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, the School District of Philadelphia (certified supplier), JFCS Mental Health Network, and recreation centers serving violence-affected neighborhoods. We've trained hundreds of teaching artists over 20 years and are formalizing this expertise into scalable certification programs while developing technology infrastructure for sector-wide impact measurement. BuildaBridge envisions a world where all are resilient, experience self-efficacy, and have a vision for their future.<br>

<p></p><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><b>Member Duties :</b> The VISTA will scale trauma-informed arts programming for Philadelphia youth experiencing poverty and trauma by: (1) systematizing 28 years of teaching artist training into documented curriculum modules enabling consistent quality (2) implementing technology infrastruct, and (3) establishing youth leadership pathways through Youth Advisory Council and teaching artist apprenticeships that center community voice in organizational governance while creating sustainable systems for continued growth addressing barriers youth face accessing healing support. Learn about current trends in education evaluation technology and its intersection with trauma-informed art-making; explore various forms of software and web-based platforms that will help capture, measure, and synthesize data tracked from BuildaBridge programming; strengthen their abilty to share and present BuildaBridge data in written word and visuals.
