Role Overview
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the achievement of the sales and profit objectives for their assigned territory/industry. Works closely with the Sales Manager in establishing the territory sales targets to maximize sales targets.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Generates and develops new business to meet specified production goals.</li><li>
Maintains and nurtures existing client relationships.</li><li>
Responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.</li><li>
Prepares and presents sales proposals.</li><li>
Plans and manages sales territory.</li><li>
Understands and communicates information regarding company products, services, and policies and procedures to new and existing clients.</li><li>
Works closely with the branch inside sales and management team for alignment.</li><li>
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry product information.</li><li>
Continually gathers information on local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within the region; communicates information to management and others as needed.</li><li>
Negotiates contracts and work agreements.</li><li>
Ensures that all required client paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.</li><li>
Provides timely and accurate reports as required.</li><li>
Attends and participates in business/trade events that impact business unit.</li><li>
Attends and participates in team strategic sales meetings.</li><li>
Performs additional duties as required and assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li><li>
5+ years of outside sales experience in the same or similar industry preferred.</li><li>
Computer literate; Proficient with MS Office 365.</li><li>
Experience with distribution-specific ERP systems, preferably Eclipse.</li><li>
Ability to effectively communicate [written and verbal].</li><li>
Thrives in a collaborative in a team environment.</li><li>
Detailed oriented work style comfortable with multiple priorities being juggled while maintaining a consistent work approach.</li><li>
Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, lift to 50 lbs., carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, endure frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.</li><li>
Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.</li></ul>
