Job Summary: 
Ameriship Parcel Delivery is a medical overnight and courier delivery service in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri, Florida, Colorado, Nevada, Georgia, and Illinois. We are the leader in Texas for pharmacy delivery. We are recruiting for a General Manager to work at our Tampa, FL office. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake logistics, manage the office, and work diligently under pressure.
Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Manages daily dispatch and interface of assigned drivers.</li>
<li>Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, and coaching new drivers and your staff.</li>
<li>Responsible for overseeing routing, sorting, operations loading and unloading of freight, customer service, and facilities management.</li>
<li>Delivering and picking up packages daily.</li>
<li>Create and updates driver notes in Ameriship&rsquo;s system to ensuring accuracy and validity of information related to deliveries, re-attempts, and missed deliveries.</li>
<li>Drive consistent operational performance with a focus on service and cost.</li>
<li>Monitor mis deliveries and develop avoidance strategies for your office.</li>
<li>Manages and organizes general office duties including mailing, supplies, and errands.</li>
<li>Forecast workload for 2 &ndash; 3 days out.</li>
<li>Lead and manage hourly personnel and contractors.</li>
<li>Manage resources to cover staff absence &amp; workload capabilities.</li>
<li>Responsible for managing disciplinary issues in line with company policies.</li>
<li>Schedules and directs the work activity for drivers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability.</li>
<li>Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency of data in the system.</li>
<li>Create and assign work schedules. Maintain proper staffing to support operations based on freight volumes.</li>
<li>1-3 years of experience in any of the following areas: material flow, warehouse/logistics, transportation management, and materials handling</li>
<li>Ability to interact with Logistics team and vendors.</li>
<li>Knowledge of shipping and receiving</li>
<li>Self-Motivated and Resourceful</li>
<li>Able to Prioritize and Multi-Task</li>
<li>Ability to effectively problem solve.</li>
<li>Self-directed and able to meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Comfortable and knowledgeable with Technology and Computers</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience:
<ul><li>Management: 2-3 years (Preferred)</li>
<li>Logistics: 2-3 years (Preferred)</li>
</ul>
