POSITION
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our instructional team as a PE Teacher. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality education to our students, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve our school&rsquo;s goals. We recognize that the number one factor impacting student achievement is quality, presence, and effectiveness of every teacher within the classroom. Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Classroom Management:<ul><li>
Effectively manage student behavior and create a positive learning environment in accordance with school policies and procedures.</li><li>
Implement behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques as needed.</li><li>
Establish clear and consistent classroom procedures and routines to promote positive student behaviors.</li><li>
Resolve student conflicts effectively and promote positive resolution of disagreements.</li></ul>
Instructional Delivery:<ul><li>
Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with state standards and the network-adopted subject-specific curriculum.</li><li>
Adapt instruction as needed to meet the diverse learning needs of students.</li><li>
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote critical thinking.</li><li>
Grade assignments and student work based on rubrics and exemplars, in accordance with school policies.</li></ul>
Assessment and Feedback:<ul><li>
Assess student progress regularly and provide individualized support and interventions as needed.</li><li>
Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.</li><li>
Provide individual and small group support to students as needed.</li><li>
Identify and address student academic and social-emotional needs.</li></ul>
Communication:<ul><li>
Maintain open and professional communication with students, parents, and school staff.</li><li>
Provide timely and informative feedback to students on their work.</li><li>
Conduct regular parent-teacher calls and conferences to discuss student progress and address both, positive student behavior and potential concerns.</li><li>
Utilize effective communication channels, such as ParentSquare messages, to keep parents and families informed about classroom activities and student progress.</li><li>
Communicate effectively with colleagues to share information, resources, and best practices.</li><li>
Communicate professionally with administrators, network staff, and other stakeholders.</li></ul>
Collaboration:<ul><li>
Work collaboratively with the school's administrative and support staff to ensure student success.</li><li>
Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other Physical Education teachers to ensure continuity of instruction.</li><li>
Participate in school-wide initiatives and committees to contribute to the overall success of the school.</li></ul>
Professional Development:<ul><li>
Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.</li><li>
Stay current on best practices in education and child development.</li></ul>
Administrative Tasks:<ul><li>
Complete necessary administrative tasks such as taking attendance, collecting and distributing homework and materials, enforcing dress code, and maintaining classroom organization.</li><li>
Oversee student safety and well-being during class time, recess, and lunch periods.</li><li>
Enforce school rules and procedures consistently.</li><li>
Be familiar with and follow school emergency procedures, including lockdown, fire drills, and evacuation plans.</li></ul>
Perform other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge of public education and charter school movement, preferred.</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.</li><li>
California teaching credential or ability and willingness to obtain a California teaching permit/credential if not already credentialed.</li><li>
1+ years of experience working at school sites or experience working with children/youth, preferred.</li><li>
Strong classroom management skills and ability to build rapport with students.</li><li>
Demonstrated mastery of subject matter.</li><li>
Ability to follow established routines and procedures.</li><li>
Previous experience in charter schools, preferred.</li></ul>
Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.</li><li>
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.</li><li>
Bending at the waist, kneeling, and/or crouching to file materials.</li><li>
Ability to access and navigate various facilities within the organization.</li><li>
Occasional lifting of objects up to twenty pounds.</li></ul>
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $96,500. Salary is commensurate with experience, education, and expertise. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
This is a full-time, exempt, 100% in-person position.
