 &bull; Analyzing US real estate market dynamics - Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and anticipate shifts before competitors. Support investment decisions that shape portfolio composition and expansion strategies
 
 
 &bull; Building and maintaining sophisticated investment models - Develop and enhance models that guide multi-million-dollar capital allocation decisions. Ensure data accuracy through regular updates and validation from multiple sources
 
 
 &bull; Creating powerful data visualizations - Design compelling dashboards, charts, and presentations that translate complex market data into actionable intelligence for C-suite executives and internal stakeholders
 
 
 Monitoring portfolio performance - Track and analyze key metrics across 20 states against established benchmarks. Identify optimization opportunities and support strategic capital deployment recommendations
 
 
 &bull; Driving cross-functional insights - Collaborate with Development, Operations, and other divisions to ensure analytical findings drive real business action across residential, commercial, and mortgagebacked securities markets
 
 
 &bull; Maintaining analytical excellence - Document data sources, methodologies, and model assumptions comprehensively. Prepare recurring investment reports that inform critical financial operations

 As a Research Analyst on the Investment Strategy team, you'll be at the intersection of data science, finance, and real estate strategy.
 
 
 
 
 
 Working within our Merchant Banking division&mdash;the cornerstone of Amherst's investment management activities&mdash;your analyses will directly impact:
 
 
 &bull; Raising new debt and equity capital
 
 
 &bull; Forming strategic ventures &bull; Executing acquisitions and dispositions
 
 
 &bull; Managing extensive portfolio investments

 Desired Skills/Qualifications:
 
 
 &bull; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field
 
 
 &bull; 0-2 years of analytical, research, or financial experience
 
 
 &bull; Advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
 
 
 &bull; Experience with Python, R, or SQL for data analysis
