 Position Description
 
 
 
 Amideast/Egypt offers educational development programs and operates across Egypt with offices in Cairo and Alexandria. In 2016 Amideast leased and then acquired the current location at 3 Pharanaa street in 2020. The location is a heritage site that dates to the early 20th century when the original structure was built circa 1910. Amideast&rsquo;s decision to acquire the property has revived the property&rsquo; as an educational and cultural hub focused on the exchange and collaboration between the US and Egypt.
 
 
 The position of the Facility Management Engineer (FME) is critical to maintaining the property and ensuring its upkeep for the continued provision of Amideast services in Alexandria. The FME will apply engineering principles and techniques to maintain and optimize the facility. S/he work includes ensuring proper installations, renovations, and maintenance of the facility, maintain the upkeep of the property and the HVAC system with minimal operational disruption, lead facility improvement projects, and develop a robust facility maintenance plan in accordance with organizational objectives. S/he is also required to ensure compliance with workplace safety, health, and other regulatory requirements in his/her line of work as may be needed.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 Operational Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Develop and adhere to an annual operational maintenance plan for the facility
 </li>
 <li>
 Plan and track all maintenance work and conduct technical presentations to management
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain quality assurance system related to facility maintenance
 </li>
 <li>
 Instill good maintenance practices and create mechanisms that ensure a safety culture
 </li>
 <li>
 Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor facility performance data to establish good control parameters
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure proper facility installations/renovations are being carried out on-site
 </li>
 <li>
 Implement solutions and monitor process capability
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure service contracts are integrated into the maintenance schedules and supervise their operation in accordance with business needs
 </li>
 <li>
 Investigate root causes of facility failures and lead continuous improvement projects
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance activities
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide all administrative and operational support to successfully conduct activities
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide administrative and logistical support for training accommodation and travel arrangements along with other administrative tasks
 </li>
 <li>
 Handle procurement specifically travel, transportation, material and other supplies for programs/trainings
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Reporting and Budgetary Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Prepare and submit reports and compliance documentation on monthly basis as outlined in the operational plan
 </li>
 <li>
 Regularly coordinate activities with Regional Manager regarding the following areas Risk Management, Assets, and Facilities
 </li>
 <li>
 Adopt new technologies to improve facility system in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
 </li>
 <li>
 Analyze project costs and develop reflective budgets to be submitted for approval to management
 </li>
 <li>
 Negotiate of facility-related service contracts and conduct annual evaluations prior to renewal

 Required
 
 
 
 
 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in electrical or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
 </li>
 <li>
 At least 3 years of experience as facilities engineer or in a similar role
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong technical background and knowledge of other trades works such as electrical, HVAC, MEP and civil works
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of the building process and construction principles
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes
 </li>
 <li>
 Good verbal and written communication skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Project management skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency in spoken and written English
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum TOIEC score of 800 or equivalent

 The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (as needed)
