Job Summary:</b></div><p>
Developmental Instruction (DI) services include working in a coaching role with the family or other caregiver, the design of learning environments and implementation of planned activities that promote the child&rsquo;s healthy development and acquisition of skills that lead to achieving outcomes in the child&rsquo;s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). DI provides families and/or other caregivers with the information, skills, and support to enhance the child&rsquo;s development. DI addresses all developmental areas: cognitive, communication, physical/motor (vision and hearing), social/emotional and adaptive development. DI services are provided in collaboration with the family and other personnel providing early intervention services in accordance with the IFSP.</p><div><b>
Qualifications:</b></div><ul><li>
Minimum Education and Experience requirements:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Early Childhood or related fields listed in Developmental Certification Policy (2010), section J.</li></ul></li></ul><div><b>
Training and Supervision Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
Certification as a Developmental Specialist II or III.</li><li>
Receive reflective supervision at least once (1) every month.</li></ul><div><b>
Duties and Responsibilities:</b></div><ul><li>
Works towards fulfilling Company&rsquo;s Mission, Vision and Values.</li><li>
Selects/implements evidence-based practices which supports the goals and objectives of the child/family&rsquo;s IFSP.</li><li>
Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual treatment programs.</li><li>
Participates in team discussions in an articulate, positive, and productive manner.</li><li>
Maintains assigned equipment in proper working order. Perform routine repairs.</li><li>
Instructs staff, as assigned, in principles used in developmental instruction.</li><li>
Completes all documentation in a timely manner.</li><li>
Attends departmental/business staff development activities.</li><li>
Adheres to DS licensure requirements.</li><li>
Maintains proficiency in developmental instruction by attending workshops, conferences, and trainings.</li><li>
Attends all mandatory in-services and participates in Company committees as requested by supervisor.</li><li>
May represent the Company while participating in community outreach events, activities, meetings, trainings, etc.</li><li>
Responds to emergency situations in a competent manner.</li><li>
Adheres to established Company guidelines within Company&rsquo;s Official Documents.</li><li>
Assists in quality management, research, public relations, and program development projects when appropriate.</li><li>
Participates in Company&rsquo;s Professional Development Plan.</li><li>
May be assigned to be a supervisor for other DS(s).</li><li>
To carry out all responsibilities professionally and efficiently.</li><li>
To work in a manner that coincides with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Company.</li><li>
Maintain effective communications at all levels; within the work setting and company.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><b>
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>
Due to the nature of the Company, service delivery settings will vary. Must be able to adapt to a variety of settings and be willing to work in clinical, community, and home settings.</li><li>
Work area may be crowded.</li><li>
Working schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.</li><li>
Duties may involve being on one&rsquo;s feet for extended periods.</li><li>
Duties may involve traveling to and from areas within the western region of New Mexico.</li><li>
Duties may involve exposure to hazardous conditions, contagious diseases, and chemicals to repair/adjust patient equipment.</li><li>
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.</li></ul></div>
