This position also provides technical support to the Production and Maintenance Departments. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Environmental, and Health and Safety teams to develop and execute projects for the St James facility.</div></div>

Develops and implements projects which improve the profitability, operability, reliability, safety, and environmental performance of the St. James Plant in accordance with Business Plan and Plant Specific objectives</li><li>
Plans and leads the efforts of the project team through the development and execution of projects</li><li>
Develops the scope of projects, evaluating options, and obtains management approval</li><li>
Obtains funding for the projects</li><li>
Opens, manages, and closes projects in SAP and periodically reports status to management</li><li>
Reports progress and forecasting costs on a regular basis</li><li>
Prepares bid specifications, evaluates bids, and selects engineering and construction contractors
</li><li>Monitors/manages the design and construction of projects to ensure that they are engineered and built according to key project plans and company standards</li><li>
Monitors/controls the cost and timing of projects to keep expenditures and schedules within the limits authorized by management</li><li>
Manages the start-up of projects and project closure activities in a safe and timely manner so that project benefits can be fully realized</li><li>
Provides turnaround support, troubleshooting, and engineering analysis</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned or needed</li></ul></li></ul></div></div>
<div><div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Job Requirements</b></h3><ul><li><ul><li>
3+ years' experience in a chemical processing or refinery environment</li><li>
Strong commitment to personal safety</li><li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with an exceptionally broad array of people having diverse backgrounds encountered during the life of a project</li><li>
Broad generalized knowledge of chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering
</li><li>Broad generalized knowledge of industry design codes, standards, and practices</li><li>
Broad generalized knowledge of personnel safety, process safety, and environmental principles/regulations</li><li>
Project management and administrative skills necessary to plan, organize, coordinate, and control the development and execution of a project &ndash; including cost and schedule control</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
</li><li>Excellent technical and problem-solving skills to identify alternatives to challenges presented and select the most appropriate solution with minimal guidance or precedence</li></ul></li></ul></div></div>

Experience with Instrumentation and Electrical type projects is preferred</li><li>

Project Engineer - Instrument & Electrical

<div><div><div>This position is responsible for effective project construction to achieve safe, reliable, and cost-effective installations to the plant. This construction manager role provides leadership, direction, and coordination for the construction of capital, expense, and improvement projects; plans, prioritizes, and communicates work group activities to ensure effective execution of projects per the Project Delivery Work Process.</div></div>
<div><div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Primary Responsibilities</b></h3><ul><li><ul><li>
Position is responsible for the safe execution of capital and expense projects assigned; including environmental compliance</li><li>
Along with the PM, this position is responsible for the efficient and effective construction of all capital projects assigned</li><li>
Provides work direction for contractors assigned to support projects (Safety, QA/QC, Schedulers, Cost Controllers, Project Coordinators)</li><li>
Provides input into contracting plans and strategies and balancing on-site resources</li><li>
Works with PM in selecting construction contractors (bid jobs with a value over $250K)</li><li>
Ensure projects are constructed per applicable standards, specifications, and project drawings</li><li>
Ensure project schedules are current and accurate
</li><li>Ensure project costs are reported accurately; helps PM manage RFIs, FCNs, and CO&rsquo;s</li><li>
Ensures new project equipment and materials are properly stored and protected</li><li>
Ensures accurate as-builts are turned over to PM after construction</li><li>
Provide constructability input into capital project design</li><li>
Responsible for staging, setting up, and maintaining temporary facilities for contractors</li><li>
Maintains a long-range Construction Resource Plan (one year look ahead)</li><li>
Assists in the negotiation and bidding of contracts for capital and expense projects</li><li>
Provides engineering consultants for project reviews</li><li>
Coordinates with Turnaround Team regarding capital projects to be installed during turnarounds</li><li>

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management is preferred but other degree programs and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Construction Management degree</li><li>
Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Project software</li><li>
Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization utilizing both oral and written skills</li><li>
Must be highly organized and detail oriented</li><li>
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload</li><li>
Must have an advanced knowledge of industrial construction methods, including but not limited to, piping, civil, E&amp;I, equipment installation, etc.</li><li>
Demonstrated strong technical and leadership skills</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to exceptional technical, planning, and organizational skills</li><li>
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and turnarounds as required</li><li>
Be a self-starter and self-motivated
