<div><div><div>The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is a day position at the Joliet polystyrene plant. The job will require some overtime work and extended hours on weekends, nights and holidays depending on plant needs. It is necessary for maintenance technicians to be on-call on a rotation basis.</div></div>

<li>Troubleshoot and repair rotating and reciprocating equipment.</li>
<li>Analyze and resolve malfunctioning equipment.</li>
<li>Participate in Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures.</li>
<li>Lead / Participate in the site Preventative Maintenance Plan.</li>
<li>Advocate for safe work and adhere to all safe work standards, procedures, and housekeeping practices.</li>
<li>Operate aerial lifts and forklifts as necessary to complete work.</li>
<li>Support minor mechanical design and project work as well as turnarounds.</li>
<li>Provide work direction to contractor crews.</li>
<li>Perform all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.</li>
<li>Ensure procedures are valid and up-to date.</li>

<ul><li>High school diploma is required.</li>
<li>Mechanical maintenance education or experience such as millwright, machinist, or mechanical repair in a chemical, refining, or industrial plant.</li>
<li>Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.</li>
<li>Capable of working and communicating effectively with others.</li>
<li>Able and willing to take call-ins and work overtime hours.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Work involves climbing stairs and ladders.</li>
<li>Must be able to work at heights.</li>
<li>Must be able to wear a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).</li>

<ul><li>Pipefitting skills.</li>
<li>Ability to read equipment prints, secure information from OEM manuals, and proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, dial calipers etc.).</li>
<li>Possesses basic computer skills to interface with maintenance management system and basic Microsoft office knowledge.</li>
<li>Capable of basic structural welding.</li>
<li>Knowledge of basic machining including lathes, mills, and presses.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of mechanical seals, flush pans, and seal failure analysis.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of laser alignment techniques.</li>

Maintenance Mechanic Technician

<div><div><div>The Operating Technician is primarily a 12-hour rotating shift job operating the Marietta polystyrene plant. Job requires knowledge and use of computer operating (DCS) system, knowledge and use of a workstation, use of the computerized maintenance work order system, and the ability to safely and responsibly operate the plant using standard operating procedures and work processes.</div></div>
<div><div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></h3><div><div><div>
<ul><li>Performing routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products.</li>
<li>Using troubleshooting skills to resolve process, product quality, safety, and environmental problems.</li>
<li>Following operating discipline, procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation of assigned duties.</li>
<li>The control, monitoring and adjustment of all control systems and manually operated equipment.</li>
<li>Identification of equipment requiring maintenance.</li>
<li>Clearing and tagging equipment as required, and issuing Safe Work Permits for maintenance and project work.</li>
<li>Acting as a resource for other Operators and/or Technicians on job tasks and prioritization of work activities.</li>
<li>Communicating with transportation providers on issues related to carriers and equipment.</li>
<li>Performing tasks assigned per task list.</li>
<li>Accurately completing all required paperwork.</li>
<li>Performing all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.</li>
<li>Experience in a chemical/manufacturing plant operation is a plus, but not required.</li>
<li>Must be able to wear a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).</li>
<li>High degree of safety awareness and willingness to follow all safety standards.</li>
