We are currently looking for a full-time dedicated Medical Assistant in the Tampa Bay area for a FAST-PACED Medical Office with multiple locations.This is an opportunity for a reliable, motivated, professional, personable, articulate individual who enjoys working with patients daily. We are seeking a medical assistant who is organized, self-motivated, and has expertise in customer service. Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.A Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting providers in providing care to their patients.Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Record and update information such as pharmacies, contact information, etc in patient chart</li><li>Scheduled patient appointments</li><li>Communication/correspondence with patient and various facilities</li><li>Performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals, and collecting lab samples</li><li>Clean and maintain exam rooms</li><li>Answer phones, scan, and prep charts</li><li>Schedule cases at hospital and surgery center</li><li>Speak with patients, office staff and providers regarding patient care issues.</li><li>Assist with miscellaneous administrative duties as required</li><li>Take patient histories and vital signs, preparing patients for examination and/or procedures</li><li>Chart and enter data into patient&rsquo;s electronic record (eClinicalWorks)</li><li>Assist physician with examinations and treatments including selected diagnostic tests</li><li>Collect, prepare, and send out laboratory specimens, e.g., urine drug screen and oral swab samples</li><li>Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician</li><li>Answer back office specific calls, seeing to it that messages are worked</li><li>Fit patients for braces (back, knee, etc) and complete required paperwork</li></ul>Other Responsibilities:<ul><li>Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, vendors, physicians, coworkers, and regulatory agencies.</li><li>Work directly with Physician and/or Manager on all aspects of practice operations and workflow.</li></ul>Schedule:<ul><li>Monday through Friday</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>High school diploma or GED equivalent.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>Answering multiple phone line</li><li>Must have excellent customer service orientation</li><li>Must have strong TEAM orientation</li><li>EMR - eClinicalWorks experience (Preferred)</li><li>PDMP experience (Preferred)</li><li>Proficient experience (Preferred)</li></ul>Benefits available after 90 daysWork Location:<ul><li>Travel between locations when needed (This is required.)</li></ul>Work Remotely:<ul><li>No</li></ul>Behaviors:<ul><li>Team Player: Works well as a member of a group.</li><li>Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.</li><li>Enthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest.</li><li>Ability to prioritize and multitask for maximum efficiency.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li></ul>Bilingual (English/Spanish): Preferred but not requiredYou are the right person if you are outgoing, reliable, and highly organized, with excellent communication and computer skills, and a positive and compassionate attitude.
