Andelyn Biosciences is a biopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) focused on advancing novel gene therapies from concept to commercialization. Located in the heart of Columbus, OH, the company has expanded to three buildings with more than 250,000 combined square feet of space. The Andelyn Corporate Center (ACC) is dedicated to cGMP manufacturing, the Andelyn Development Center (ADC) for preclinical non-cGMP activities, and the Andelyn Plasmid Center (APC) for research and cGMP plasmid production.

The name &ldquo;Andelyn&rdquo; is a hybrid of two gene therapy patients who participated in pivotal Phase I clinical trials at Nationwide Children&rsquo;s Hospital. Andrew received the first U.S. investigational gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2006. Evelyn received experimental gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy in 2015. &ldquo;Andelyn&rdquo; combines their names to represent all the families who have courageously participated in the research that makes today&rsquo;s gene therapies possible.</div><div></div><div>

The Andelyn Biosciences&rsquo; engineering group is seeking a couple of motivated individuals to join our growing team as Engineering / Facilities Interns (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineers). The Engineering / Facilities Interns will learn how pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities operate from the inside out! You will be supporting engineers and scientists in our two new state-of-the-art facilities.

What you will do.<ul><li>
Small Project Execution. With guidance from managers, the interns will be asked to develop a scope, define a timeline/budget, and obtain stakeholder consensus. If timing permits and project execution will follow.</li><li>
Support our new Bio-manufacturing facility. Under the direction of the Project Manager execute assigned tasks including P&amp;ID walk-downs, support start-ups, and monitoring of building utility equipment and monitoring the progress of contractors.</li><li>
AutoCAD support. Under the technical direction of the manager, the intern will make minor changes to drawings and route for approval. Depending on the intern&rsquo;s capability, they may be asked to field verify or &ldquo;as-built&rdquo; drawings.</li><li>
Equipment Documentation. During the execution of projects, Andelyn collects manuals and other documentation from our equipment vendors and contractors. These are typically accumulated by project engineers and stored with project files. The intern will catalog these items from recent projects and transfer them to the centralized electronic storage files. Where electronic versions of the documents are not available, the intern will either source these from the original supplier or convert them to electronic (e.g., scanning) format.</li><li>
CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) &amp; Maintenance Workflow. Andelyn has been converting its paper-based maintenance systems to an electronic database. With direction from the maintenance planner/scheduler, the interns will assist with tasks such as spare parts cataloging, asset identification, and labeling, refining existing asset information (Manuals and drawings), PM task writing, and training aid generation.</li><li>

What you bring to the team.<ul><li>
Must be currently enrolled as a Sophomore or Junior at a College or University</li><li>
Must be a Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering major</li><li>
No minimum experience required</li><li>
Must be literate in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)</li><li>
Must excel in working in a team environment</li></ul>
