Position Summary
The Youth Mentor provides structured guidance, support, and skill-building activities for youth and adolescents receiving services through Anderson Health Services.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy teaching, coaching, or mentoring young people in a supportive, community-based environment.
This is a new and growing position, so we are looking for energetic applicants who are creative, reliable, and passionate about making a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Build positive, supportive, and professional mentoring relationships with youth</li>
<li>Provide coaching and instruction in areas such as:
<ul><li>Social skills</li>
<li>Emotional regulation</li>
<li>Daily living skills</li>
<li>Healthy habits and decision-making</li>
</ul></li><li>Support youth in school, home, and community environments</li>
<li>Model appropriate behavior and reinforce positive choices</li>
<li>Document sessions and progress notes accurately and on time</li>
<li>Collaborate with supervisors, clinicians, and families to ensure consistent support</li>
<li>Maintain confidentiality and follow all agency policies and state guidelines</li>
</ul>

Minimum Qualifications
<ul><li>High school diploma or GED required</li>
<li>Experience working with youth (school programs, camps, sports, mentoring, childcare, behavioral health, etc.)</li>
<li>Reliable transportation and valid driver&rsquo;s license</li>
<li>Strong communication skills, patience, and a coaching mindset</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and follow structured support plans</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul><li>Coursework or background in psychology, social work, education, or human services</li>
<li>Experience mentoring youth with emotional or behavioral challenges</li>
<li>CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)</li>
</ul>
