Duties and Responsibilities</div><div></div><div><br>
Key Responsibilities:</div><ul><li>
Analyze large, complex, and sometimes incomplete datasets related to class action settlements. Data sets are often comprised of millions of records.<ul><li>
Navigate thin requirements via constant communication and questioning, while exercising reasoned judgment calls.</li><li>
Develop and refine data cleaning and validation processes to improve accuracy and consistency.</li><li>
Work closely with project managers and legal teams to understand case-specific claim requirements and constraints.</li><li>
Assess claims for validity based on project guidelines, identifying inconsistencies, fraud, or missing information.</li><li>
Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making on claim approvals, denials, or deficiencies.</li><li>
Provide leadership and guidance to central data support members on collaborative tasks.</li><li>
Generate reports, visualizations, and dashboards to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>
Suggest and implement process improvements to ensure smoother data handling in future settlements.</li><li>
Maintain documentation of processes, data structures, and decisions made for auditing and compliance purposes.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div><div><br>
Qualifications and Experience</div></div><div></div><div><br>
The essential qualifications include but are not limited to the following.</div><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating large datasets.</li><li>Experience handling unstructured or messy data and applying data cleaning/validation techniques.</li><li>Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and automation.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to evolving case requirements.</li><li>Ability to assess claim validity based on structured and unstructured data inputs.</li><li>Experience working in legal, financial, or regulatory data environments is highly preferred.</li><li>Excellent communication skills&mdash;able to translate technical insights into practical recommendations for legal and project management teams.</li><li>High attention to detail with the ability to detect anomalies, patterns, and inconsistencies in data.</li><li>Resilience, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset.</li><li>Experience with data visualization tools (Metabase, Power BI, or similar).</li><li>Familiarity with fraud detection methodologies in claim processing.</li><li>Experience with data warehouses, Redshift (or Postgres equivalent) is a plus.</li><li>Experience working with class action settlements or similar legal/financial data.</li><li>Knowledge of data governance and compliance in legal or financial contexts.</li></ul><div></div><div><br>
