Job Title: Resident TransporterDepartment: NursingReports to: Administrator / Director of NursingPosition Summary:The Resident Transporter is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting residents within the facility and to outside medical appointments, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times. This position plays a vital role in supporting clinical staff, rehabilitation services, and overall resident satisfaction by providing dependable transportation services.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Transport residents to external medical appointments, hospitals and other healthcare facilities as scheduled.</li><li>Assist residents with transfers (wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulation) following proper safety and infection control protocols.</li><li>Secure wheelchairs and equipment properly during transport.</li><li>Monitor residents for any signs of distress during transport and immediately report concerns to the nursing staff.</li><li>Maintain resident dignity, privacy and comfort at all times.</li><li>Communicate effectively with nursing staff, therapy departments, and administrative personnel regarding schedules and transport needs.</li><li>Maintain and update transport schedules based on the residents' needs.</li><li>Perform routine safety checks and maintain cleanliness of the transport equipment and vehicles.</li><li>Adhere to facility policies of OSHA guidelines, and infection control standards.</li><li>Assist with additional non-clinical support tasks as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Must be able to pass a background check.</li><li>High school diploma or GED preferred.</li><li>Valid Driver's license.</li><li>Clean driving record.</li><li>CPR certified (or willingness to obtain upon hire).</li><li>Experience in healthcare, long-term care or rehabilitation setting preferred.</li><li>Ability to safely operate wheelchairs, stretchers and other transport equipment.</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Physical ability to lift, push and assist residents safely (may require lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance).</li><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting.</li><li>Ability to assist with resident transfers.</li><li>Ability to push wheelchairs and stretchers for extended periods of time.</li></ul>Skill and Abilities:<ul><li>Compassionate and patient-centered approach</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team</li><li>Good organizational skills and time managment skills</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hourExpected hours: 36 &ndash; 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>Driver's License (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Myrtle Beach, SC 29588 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Myrtle Beach, SC 29588: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
