 About The Role
 
 
 
 AngloGold Ashanti is looking for a
 
 Director, Capital Projects Procurement
 
 to lead the supply chain function across our capital projects and ensure their successful execution from concept to operations. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you&rsquo;ll drive excellence, optimize costs, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class results.
 
 
 
 What You&rsquo;ll Do
 
 
 
 
 Lead Capital Project Procurement:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Shape and execute supply chain strategies for capital projects, from early-stage planning through feasibility, execution, and handover into operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide procurement leadership and guidance to project teams globally, ensuring alignment with business goals.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operational teams to develop integrated solutions that maximize value.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Drive Excellence And Innovation
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Lead cross-functional teams to implement improvements, drive innovation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with category management and technical advisory teams to standardize equipment, goods, and services, ensuring the lowest total cost of ownership.
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate EPC, EPCM, and prime contracts, providing proactive solutions to supply chain challenges.

 Advise senior leadership and project stakeholders on complex procurement and supply chain matters.

 Technical Expertise
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Develop and execute procurement strategies that minimize costs and risks while meeting project objectives.
 </li>

 Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and risk management activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with HSEC standards, high-quality data capture, and efficient field operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify cost savings, risk reduction opportunities, and ensure operational readiness for project handover.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 General Knowledge &amp; Experience
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Proven track record in leading large-scale capital project supply chain operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of project controls and capital project execution.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to develop and implement strategic programs and policies that impact regional or large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

 Strong understanding of legal terms and conditions related to procurement and contracts.

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field with relevant industry experience.

 Extensive experience with SAP MM module.
 </li>

 15+ years of experience in major or mega capital project procurement.
