Position Summary
The Medical Assistant &ndash; Physical Therapy supports Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with treatment preparation, patient flow, and administrative duties. This role ensures an efficient clinical environment while providing excellent patient service and support throughout the therapy process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for patient therapy sessions</li><li>
Assist Physical Therapists with patient care under direct supervision, including positioning patients and supporting therapeutic exercises</li><li>
Escort patients to and from treatment areas and ensure timely patient flow</li><li>
Clean and sanitize equipment and treatment rooms between patients in accordance with infection control standards</li><li>
Monitor and restock clinical supplies and notify management of inventory needs</li><li>
Assist with applying modalities as directed (e.g., heat, ice, electrical stimulation) within scope of practice</li><li>
Observe patients during therapy and report any concerns or changes to the Physical Therapist</li><li>
Document patient interactions and assist with maintaining accurate medical records in the EMR system</li><li>
Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and assist with front office duties as needed</li><li>
Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive patient experience</li></ul> 
Qualifications<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>
Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)</li><li>
Previous experience in a physical therapy, orthopedic, or clinical setting preferred</li></ul> 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<ul><li>
Basic understanding of medical terminology and physical therapy practices</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment</li><li>
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities</li><li>
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision</li></ul> 
Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients during therapy activities</li><li>
Ability to lift and move equipment and assist patients (up to 50 lbs with assistance if needed)</li><li>
Ability to remain on feet for extended periods</li></ul> 
Work Environment<ul><li>
Outpatient physical therapy clinic or medical office setting</li><li>
Frequent interaction with patients, clinical staff, and providers</li></ul></div>

Physical Therapy Tech

<div>Description:

Medical Scribes are individuals who assist a physician throughout their shift. The primary goal of a Medical Scribe is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the physician they are working for. The Medical Scribe allows the doctor to focus on what is most important, the patient. Performing all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a clinic setting. This includes primary responsibility of the operation of the electronic health records.
You also must be able to anticipate physician needs in order to facilitate the flow of clinic. Medical Scribes must be discreet and tactful in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties
Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician, including but not limited to:<ul><li>
Patient medical history and physical exams</li><li>
Procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals</li><li>
Patient education</li><li>
Medical Terminology</li><li>
Efficient typing skills</li><li>
Physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up</li></ul>
Paper Work<ul><li>
Completing various forms, including; Physical Therapy, MRI, Surgery</li><li>
Completing Superbills</li><li>
Completing Letters (employment, school excuses)</li></ul>
Dropping Charges<ul><li>
Coding/Charge Entry</li></ul>
Medical Scribes also identity inconsistencies in medical documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors. Medical Scribes ensure that all clinical data, lab or other test results, the interpretation of the results by the physician are recorded accurately in the medical record. Alert physician when chart is incomplete.
Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important when working as a Medical Scribe. Ability to be adaptable and versatile due to being responsible for many tasks. Any other duties determined appropriate by management.
Requirements:

Qualifications
High School diploma, or equivalent required.
Special Position Requirements
Light travel to other offices may be required for business needs.
Preferences
At least one (1) year of experience preferred, Epic experience is preferred.
Work Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, reach and squat. The employee is also regularly required to type and perform work using a computer. Employee duties will frequently require verbal communication with patients. Occasional lifting up to 30lbs and assisting patients in and out of the patient chair.
