This remote position is responsible for insurance follow-up, denial resolution, appeals, and collections activities related to open accounts receivable. Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of insurance follow-up and collections, including making telephone calls, accessing payer websites.</li><li>
Identify root cause issues for denials; categorize denial reasons and coordinate with clinic and/or with management to ensure process improvements are completed.</li><li>
Owns performance and ensures consistent and timely communication for issues identified affecting reimbursement.</li><li>
Effectively resolve complex or aged inventory, including payment research, payment recoups with minimal or no assistance necessary; accurately and thoroughly document the pertinent collection activity performed.</li><li>
Review the account information and necessary system applications to determine the next appropriate work activity.</li><li>
Verify claims adjudication utilizing appropriate resources and applications.</li><li>
Edit claims to meet and satisfy billing compliance guidelines for electronic submission.</li><li>
Manage and maintain individual work list/inventory, complete reports, and resolve high priority and aged inventory.</li><li>
Stay informed of changes with the procedures and laws for the specific insurance carriers or payers.</li><li>
Effectively communicate issues to management, including payer, system or escalated account issues as well as develop solutions.</li><li>

Working knowledge of common denial trends, including modifier-related denials (e.g., Modifier 25, 59, RT/LT) and payer-specific billing requirements.</b></li><li>

Ability to analyze EOBs, remits, and claim details to determine appropriate next steps</li><li>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Room patients, obtain and document intake information, and accurately record vital signs in the EMR</li><li>
Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic to maintain provider schedules</li><li>
Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment according to provider and clinic protocols</li><li>
Assist providers during dermatologic procedures, including biopsies and excisions</li><li>
Prepare, label, and route pathology and laboratory specimens to the appropriate lab based on patient insurance requirements</li><li>
Administer or assist with local anesthetic per provider direction</li><li>
Respond to patient questions in person and by phone, escalating clinical concerns as appropriate</li><li>
Review and manage clinical task lists, nurse line messages, phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications in a timely manner</li><li>
Accurately document patient information and scribe provider notes in the EMR when required</li><li>
Clean, calibrate, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and instruments according to established schedules and infection control standards</li><li>
Monitor medication and supply inventories, remove expired items, and maintain accurate records</li><li>
Order, organize, stock, and inventory clinical supplies to ensure exam rooms and supply areas are fully stocked</li><li>

Qualifications:
