<div>The role
As a Security Delivery Engineer, you&rsquo;ll be responsible for delivering, onboarding, and continuously improving security services across live customer environments.
You&rsquo;ll take ownership of engineering activity throughout the full service lifecycle, from customer onboarding and transition through to BAU improvement, service optimisation, and engineering-led escalations.
This is a hands-on role where you&rsquo;ll help ensure security platforms are implemented correctly, maintained to a high standard, and continually improved through continuous improvement activity. You&rsquo;ll also support clean, effective handovers into SOC operations where required.
Acting as the link between delivery, engineering, and live SOC operations, you&rsquo;ll help make sure our security services are stable, scalable, and operationally effective for our customers.
What will I be doing?
BAU Security Engineering:<ul><li>Deliver core Security Engineering across live environments, ensuring security, stability, and performance.</li><li>Maintain and optimise detections, alerts, enrichment, and automation across SIEM, EDR/XDR, and cloud platforms.</li><li>Review vulnerabilities and security posture, providing prioritised remediation guidance.</li><li>Support SOC investigations with engineering expertise.</li><li>Create and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks.</li></ul>
Delivery &amp; Onboarding Engineering:<ul><li>Lead engineering for onboarding, transitions, and service changes, ensuring consistent, secure delivery.</li><li>Deploy and configure SIEM, EDR/XDR, cloud security, logging, and integrations to agreed designs.</li><li>Tune detections, alerts, and automation to ensure production readiness.</li><li>Implement SOAR playbooks and automation for SOC operations.</li></ul>
Engineering Escalations:<ul><li>Act as escalation point for complex or recurring service issues.</li><li>Investigate root causes of incidents, instability, and detection failures, implementing fixes.</li><li>Partner with SOC and Engineering Leads to reduce repeat escalations.</li></ul>
Continuous Improvement (CI):<ul><li>Drive continuous improvements across live environments, onboarding, and platforms.</li><li>Identify enhancements to detection quality, automation, efficiency, and resilience.</li><li>Embed lessons learned into standards, templates, and service patterns.</li><li>Support the maturity and scalability of ANS security services.</li></ul>
Service Readiness &amp; Handover:<ul><li>Ensure structured handover to SOC, including docs, detections, runbooks, and escalation paths.</li><li>Validate monitoring, alerting, and response meet service levels pre-BAU.</li><li>Provide early-life support post-onboarding or major changes.</li></ul>
Customer Engagement:<ul><li>Engage customers during onboarding, changes, and escalations with clear technical guidance.</li><li>Collaborate with Architects, Engineering Leads, and Customer Success to align delivery.</li><li>Support sales opportunities.</li></ul>
What will I bring to the role?
A good understanding of the following technologies is required:<ul><li>
Strong experience with Linux, Windows, and virtualised environments.</li><li>
Hands-on experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and AWS security.</li><li>
Practical experience operating and improving SIEM and XDR platforms (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Carbon Black).</li><li>
Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).</li><li>
Strong understanding of incident response, alerting, logging, and engineering escalation workflows.</li><li>
Ability to balance BAU engineering, delivery work, and CI improvement</li><li>
Network Defence</li><li>
NIST CVSS Vulnerabilities and scoring system</li><li>
OS Specific log data
</li><li>IPTables</li><li>
Knowledge of secure development principles and OWASP top 10</li></ul>

Security Engineer

<div>At ANS, the Data Solution Architect is pivotal in shaping and delivering end-to-end data solutions that align with business objectives and technical standards. This role focuses on designing robust, scalable architectures that enable seamless data integration, advanced analytics, and secure data management across diverse platforms. Working closely with engineers and stakeholders, the Data Solution Architect ensures that solutions are not only technically sound but also optimised for performance, reliability, and future growth. While hands-on implementation may occasionally be required, the primary responsibility lies in defining architectural patterns, guiding technical decisions, and translating complex requirements into actionable designs that drive value for both internal teams and customers. 
Roles and responsibilities...<ul><li>
Act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers and internal teams through complex architectural decisions with a focus on business value, scalability, and technical excellence.</li><li>
Design and document end-to-end data solutions clearly and accurately for internal and customer use, ensuring alignment with ANS standards and best practices.</li><li>
Collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to align on delivery timelines, report progress, and manage risks, while acting as a key point of contact for customer SMEs and technical teams to clarify requirements and solution design.</li><li>
Contribute to discovery and planning, identifying areas such as governance, security, maturity, adoption, and functional/non-functional requirements, and provide actionable recommendations.</li><li>
Educate and enable customers and internal teams, building knowledge of enterprise data platforms, architectural patterns, and best practices.</li><li>
Engage in continuous learning through certifications (e.g., DP-600, DP-700, AI-900, AI-102) and development days to stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.</li><li>
Participate in the Data Architecture Guild, sharing knowledge, influencing standards, and helping shape architectural practices across ANS.</li><li>
Ensure information security and compliance are embedded in all designs, adhering to business policies and procedures.</li></ul> 
Skills and experience required...
Must-have<ul><li>
Deep expertise in Big Data architecture and design, with significant experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions.</li><li>
Design and implementation experience with at least three of the following: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Databricks.</li><li>
Microsoft Fabric knowledge, including architecture design and integration with existing data ecosystems.</li><li>
Data catalogue, modelling, warehousing, and analytics experience across multiple platforms.</li><li>
Proven understanding of security and governance, including cloud infrastructure, compliance frameworks, and data protection principles.</li><li>
Strong presentation and visualisation skills using a variety of customer facing tools to present diagrams and designs.</li><li>
Cloud proficiency with Azure, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and services across IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.</li><li>
Knowledge of Well-Architected Frameworks, security principles, and Agile/Waterfall project lifecycles.</li><li>
Database expertise in SQL and NoSQL technologies.</li></ul>
Desirable<ul><li>
Programming and automation: SQL, Python, Azure DevOps.</li><li>
IoT design architecture for connected solutions.</li><li>
Master Data Management (MDM) design and implementation.</li><li>
Architecture and cloud-related certifications, e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert.</li><li>
Experience with emerging technologies such as real-time analytics, AI/ML integration, and data mesh principles.</li></ul>
