Apex Quality Health looking for a qualified Molecular Lab Technician to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. You will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a laboratory manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e. g. pathogens or chemicals). He/She will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward. The goal is to optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.Responsibilities<ul><li>Receive, label and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.)</li><li>Perform routine testing, quality control, calibration, maintenance and proficiency testing in accordance with current laboratory procedures.</li><li>Perform complex molecular-based procedures with a high degree of quality and in accordance with established protocols</li><li>Perform RT-PCR, including nucleic acid extraction, DNA/RNA quantification and qualification.</li><li>Design and execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings</li><li>Sterilize laboratory equipment and workspaces as assigned</li><li>Enter clinical patient data into the Laboratory Information Management system</li><li>Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods</li><li>Maintain competency to perform all assigned molecular biology protocols in accordance with CAP and CLIA regulations</li><li>Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies</li><li>Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position</li><li>BS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science and 1 year of pertinent clinical lab experience in molecular biology</li><li>Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.)</li><li>Experience in a molecular laboratory setting using current safety protocols</li><li>Excellent physical condition and endurance</li><li>Experience with automated instrumentation and strong pipette skills are REQUIRED</li><li>Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems</li><li>Ability to work autonomously and under pressure</li><li>1-2 years&rsquo; work experience in a CLIA-accredited clinical laboratory preferred</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
