Clinch-Powell's Appalachia CARES program is currently recruiting an AmeriCorps member to primarily work in groundskeeping of multiple properties in Rutledge, TN.This position will be primarily involved in landscape and garden design and maintenance around historic properties as part of the downtown revitalization efforts. There will be some light construction and building maintenance as well. A strong candidate will have experience and ability to operate commercial equipment including mowers, trimmers, weedeaters, blower and saws. Hardscape and/or construction experience is a plus. Must be able to work independently and reliable transportation, valid drivers license and proof of insurance. Requires the ability to lift and carry 35-50 lbs and be able to bend, kneel, dig and be a self starter.We are looking to fill this position in mid-March or the first of April. Work will take place onsite in Rutledge, TN, but there will be flexibility during the school year for current students. AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance while in service and an education award for tuition or student loans upon successful completion. Exact weekly hours will vary based on the term agreed upon.Benefits include a $5175 living allowance (paid twice monthly over 3 or 4 months) and $1950 education award to pay for school or student loans.Pay: $5,175.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Tuition reimbursement</li></ul>Work Location: In person
