Position Summary</b></h2><p>
The <b>Field Engineer</b> provides technical and field support for construction, maintenance, and outage activities at <b>Millstone Nuclear Power Station</b>. Working closely with the Project Manager, General Superintendent, Superintendents, Quality Control, and client representatives, the Field Engineer helps ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, project schedules, and quality requirements.</p><p>
This position serves as the link between engineering, project management, and field operations by resolving technical issues, coordinating work packages, documenting field activities, and supporting successful project execution.</p><p></p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Essential Responsibilities</b></h2><ul><li>
Provide daily technical support to field construction and maintenance teams.</li><li>
Review engineering drawings, specifications, work packages, and construction documents for accuracy and constructability.</li><li>
Coordinate field execution with Project Management, Superintendents, Quality Control, and client representatives.</li><li>
Assist in planning and sequencing construction activities to support project schedules.</li><li>
Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs), field change documentation, and engineering correspondence.</li><li>
Monitor work progress and verify construction activities comply with project specifications and quality standards.</li><li>
Support field layout, measurements, and verification of installed work.</li><li>
Coordinate material deliveries and verify materials meet project requirements.</li><li>
Track and document project quantities, production rates, and completed work.</li><li>
Assist with project scheduling updates and progress reporting.</li><li>
Participate in daily planning meetings, safety briefings, and coordination meetings.</li><li>
Identify and help resolve technical issues that impact construction activities.</li><li>
Support quality inspections, turnover packages, and project closeout documentation.</li><li>
Maintain accurate field records, as-built drawings, and project documentation.</li><li>
Assist with subcontractor coordination and work planning.</li><li>
Promote compliance with OSHA, client, company, and nuclear safety requirements.</li><li>
Support outage planning, startup activities, and project commissioning as assigned.</li><li>

Qualifications</b></h2><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Required</b></h3><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.</li><li>
Minimum <b>2&ndash;5 years of field engineering or construction engineering experience</b> in industrial, heavy civil, power generation, or energy projects.</li><li>
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.</li><li>
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams).</li><li>
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preferred</b></h3><ul><li>
Previous experience supporting nuclear power plant projects.</li><li>
Experience with industrial construction, maintenance, or outage projects.</li><li>
Familiarity with work packages, quality documentation, and turnover processes.</li><li>
Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar construction software.</li><li>
OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.</li><li>
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progression toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.</li></ul><p></p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

Physical Requirements</b></h2><ul><li>
Ability to work in both office and active industrial construction environments.</li><li>
Ability to walk long distances, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate industrial facilities.</li><li>
Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.</li><li>
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.</li><li>
Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather and plant conditions.</li></ul><p></p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Work Environment</b></h2><ul><li>
Full-time position based at <b>Millstone Nuclear Power Station</b> in Waterford, Connecticut.</li><li>
Combination of field and office work supporting active construction, maintenance, and outage projects.</li><li>
Overtime, weekends, and extended hours may be required during outages and critical project milestones.</li><li>
Must successfully complete all client-required background screening, fitness-for-duty requirements, drug testing, and nuclear access authorization.</li></ul><p>
