Schedule: 8:00 am &ndash; 4:00 pm
Hourly Wage: $18.00 an hour

What You&rsquo;ll Do and Why it Matters:
A Transportation Specialist plays an important role in helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely access services, programs, and opportunities in the community. This role is about more than driving&mdash;it&rsquo;s about reliability, compassion, and helping people start and end their day with dignity and support.
<ul><li>Safe &amp; Dependable Transportation: You&rsquo;ll operate a wheelchair-accessible shuttle vehicle to safely transport individuals to and from ARC Voyagers&rsquo; facilities and programs.</li>
<li>Creating Positive Experiences: You&rsquo;ll provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for every passenger during each trip.</li>
<li>Supporting Independence: By helping individuals access programs and services, you&rsquo;ll play a direct role in supporting their independence and quality of life.</li>
<li>Safety First: You&rsquo;ll follow all traffic laws, complete vehicle inspections, and ensure passengers and adaptive equipment are properly secured.</li>
<li>Hands-On Assistance: You&rsquo;ll assist passengers with boarding, offboarding, and wheelchair accessibility equipment as needed.</li>
<li>Keeping Things Running Smoothly: You&rsquo;ll complete route attendance, communicate transportation concerns, and document incidents or maintenance needs when necessary.</li>
<li>Staying Active &amp; Engaged: This is an active role that keeps you moving and interacting with people throughout the day.</li></ul> 

What Makes You a Great Fit:
<ul><li>21+ with a high school diploma (or equivalent)</li>
<li>Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds</li>
<li>Friendly, patient and dependable with strong communication skills</li>
<li>Committed to providing safe, respectful and reliable transportation</li>
<li>Comfortable working independently and managing daily routes efficiently</li>
<li>Ability to assist passengers and operate wheelchair-accessible equipment safely</li>
<li>Previous experience driving passengers or accessible vehicles is a plus</li>
<li>Positive, professional, and driven to make a difference</li></ul> 

Requirements:
<ul><li>Must submit to a BCII/FBI background check and Nurses Aid &amp; Abuser Registry checks.</li>
<li>Maintain American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and CPR certification.</li>
<li>Valid State of Ohio Driver&rsquo;s License and insurability standards.</li>
<li>Complete eight hours of training as required by The Ohio Department of Developmental upon hire.</li>
<li>Must pass a driver physical and drug screen</li>
<li>Must be able to operate a wheel-chair accessible shuttle vehicle safely and efficiently</li></ul>
