Job Description: The Attending Physician for a Mental Health Facility will provide psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health disorders. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health services and ensure patient safety and well-being. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:<ul>
<li>Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.</li>
<li>Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.</li>
<li>Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring appropriate use and monitoring for side effects.</li>
<li>Provide psychotherapy or refer patients to appropriate therapeutic services as needed.</li>
<li>Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Collaboration and Communication:<ul>
<li>Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.</li>
<li>Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and other team meetings.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing education and support as needed.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Compliance and Documentation:<ul>
<li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.</li>
<li>Ensure all documentation meets legal and ethical standards for confidentiality and patient care.</li>
<li>Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Professional Development:<ul>
<li>Stay current with developments in psychiatry and mental health treatment.</li>
<li>Participate in continuing medical education (CME) activities and professional development opportunities.</li>
<li>Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, or other healthcare professionals as needed.</li>
</ul></li></ul><ul><li>Quality Improvement:<ul>
<li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and facility operations.</li>
Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.

Qualifications: 
 
<ul><li>Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.</li>
<li>Licensure: Valid medical license to practice psychiatry in the state where the facility is located.</li>
<li>Certification: Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or equivalent.</li>
<li>Experience: Previous experience in a mental health setting preferred.</li>
<li>Skills:<ul>
<li>Strong clinical skills in psychiatric assessment and treatment.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.</li>
<li>Strong organizational and time management skills.</li>
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
