Arise AZ Tutor &amp;Teacher InformationResponsibilities: Teachers will go in homes to families to support students and their needs. Each family is different, but responsibilities as a tutor usually include doing homework and going over concepts that they are not getting. For musical instruments, they must be able to know how to play and know theory. Music teachers will help students practice their instruments and learn new material based on their level. Teacher training is provided if necessary.Hours/Schedule: Tutors are able to make their own hours and schedule with families that have expressed interest in the program. We let tutors know what is needed and they can accept or deny the specific teaching opportunity. For example, a family might be looking for a piano teacher for an hour once a week during after-school hours and we would offer the opportunity to music teachers. We require a semester commitment from the tutor and are in the process of making contracts. This role allows for tutors to create their own schedule and is a part time position.Location Expectations: Teachers must be willing to go and travel in homes. We try to keep locations close, but it is always up to the tutor whether or not they take the teaching opportunity.Licenses: No license required.Degree Requirement: Teachers and tutors must have a high school degree.Tutor Experience: Tutors must have previous experience helping others with schoolwork or have a competent understanding of the area they will be tutoring in. We train tutors so they can better understand what a session should look like and what they need to be doing.Music Experience: Music teachers must be able to know how to play and know theory. Our application process will ask you to send in a 1-2 minute video of you playing with the instrument you hope to teach. Applicants are asked to include a short statement about their musical background if it is not already mentioned on their resume.Teacher Cancellation Policy: If you plan to be out of town or are sick, please let us know as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will create fun engaging lessons tailored to each student's needs while fostering a love for music.
