Job Summary 
With a focus to ensure that Armtec Defense Products Company complies with environmental law, the Senior Environmental Engineer coordinates with regulators from United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC), the Certified, Unified, Program Agency (CUPA) and other local authorities. With assistance from Environmental Compliance Technicians, the Senior Engineer will oversee the proper usage of hazardous chemicals and ensures all wastes, both hazardous and non-hazardous, are disposed of in compliance with Environmental Laws. 
 
Primary Responsibilities<ul><li>
Reviews proposed rules and regulations to determine their effect on operations at Armtec.</li><li>
Collects data for the preparation of reports to various regulatory agencies and prepares these reports.</li><li>
Assesses the need for environmental permits on new and existing equipment, prepares the necessary permit applications, and submits them to the appropriate agency.</li><li>
Prepares, implements, and maintains written procedures that will ensure and document the company&rsquo;s adherence to regulations and permit operating conditions.</li><li>
Evaluates findings of routine plant inspections in light of environmental regulations and permit operating conditions.</li><li>
Supervises the Environmental Technicians.</li><li>
Coordinates chemical spill response activities.</li><li>
Prepares, implements, and maintains mandated employee training programs.</li><li>
Research waste reduction practices for routine company operations.</li><li>
Conducts audits and inspections of contractors and service providers to protect the company&rsquo;s interest and compliance position.</li><li>
Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above</li><li>
Understand and live by Armtec&rsquo;s ethics and business conduct policies</li></ul>

Education &amp; Professional Work Experience Requirements<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Environmental Engineering or in a science related field and a minimum of ten years&rsquo; experience. This position will require both physical and mental aptitudes and a willingness to interface with all levels of the organization.</li></ul><ul><li>
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.</li><li>
To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.</li></ul>
