DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li><ul><li>
Research, prepare, and draft motions and responses for assigned Houston trial team.</li><li>
Learn rules and law in varied jurisdictions (60% of cases in Texas, 20% Louisiana, 20% elsewhere).</li><li>
Conduct legal research and review case documents.</li><li>
Draft briefs and memoranda on contested issues during litigation and trial.</li><li>
Draft complex demand letters.</li><li>
Draft affirmative motions.</li><li>
Draft petitions and complaints.</li><li>
Attend trial as needed, 2-4 times a year, to draft trial briefs (travel required).</li></ul></li></ul> 
REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li><ul><li>
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize assignments, and complete assignments on time, without significant supervision.</li><li>
Well-organized: ability to prioritize tasks, work simultaneously on multiple projects, and complete high-quality documents according to tight timelines and shifting priorities.</li><li>
Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex, and potentially unfamiliar, topics with attention to detail, thoroughness, and precision.</li><li>
Willingness to work flexible hours based on briefing schedules and variable workload.</li><li>
A preference for writing and editing in a fast-paced legal environment.</li><li>
An enthusiasm to be part of a team that fights for injured individuals and a desire to obtain favorable results for clients.</li></ul></li></ul> 
QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li><ul><li>
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school.</li><li>
Member in good standing of any state bar.</li><li>
Minimum of two years&rsquo; post law school experience at a civil law firm or one year in a judicial clerkship.</li><li>
Excellent oral communication, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.</li><li>
Mastery of the English language (verbal and written).</li><li>
Exhibit professionalism by adhering to all firm policies, security measures, and confidentiality requirements.</li><li>
Willing and available to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate caseload demands and court deadlines.</li><li>
Proficiency with Office 365 suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, along with the use of contemporary technology in law practice. Filevine, SharePoint, OneDrive, and TEAMS experience preferred but not required.</li><li>
This is a full-time position, which can be accommodated in our Dallas office, OR remote anywhere in the US. Travel to Houston for meetings and cases is occasionally required.</li><li>
This position can be salaried or 1099 contractor with highly competitive pay.</li></ul></li></ul>
