Mission
 Lead the team of Engineers and Technician within it’s discipline. Perform structural design for concrete
 and steel structures using International standards American, British and similar along with the local
 regulations.
 
Line and Staff Relations
 This role will report directly to Director, Production and Operations. He/She has relation with:
 <ul>
<li>All the local staff: Inspector and Support staff</li>
<li>All the external entities necessary to his/her job execution</li>
</ul>
Key Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Ensure effective communications and co-ordinations between all supervised staff, Senior / Lead</li>
</ul>
Engineers of other departments and Project Managers, to ensure mutual awareness of
 requirements and sharing of information and common resources
 <ul>
<li>Implement and maintain productivity targets for supervised staff, including monitoring of</li>
</ul>
overtime and budgeted man hours
 <ul>
<li>Conduct routine meetings with supervised staff to monitor the projects' performance and assess</li>
</ul>
their performance;
 <ul>
<li>Prepare an estimate of required man hours along with supporting documentation for both</li>
</ul>
proposals and major change orders, prior to issuance;
 <ul>
<li>Develop the department's capability and enhance the technical expertise of staff to suit the</li>
</ul>
present marketplace, through proper training & development, selective recruitment, evaluation
 of staff, continuous monitoring & assessment of staff and utilization of up to date software.
 CONCEPTION STAGE
 <ul>
<li>Review structural designs produced by the Structural Engineers ensuring that all design work</li>
</ul>
complies with the relevant technical standards , quality standards and local authorities rules &
 regulations.
 <ul>
<li>Understands client requirements and identifies inputs and outputs,</li>
<li>Monitor overall productivity and efficiency of the projects, forecast trends and anticipate</li>
</ul>
potential problems and difficulties meeting milestones or budget
 <ul>
<li>Is in charge of all types of verifications:</li>
</ul>
o Reviews contracts in terms of supplying the right goods and services, on time and within
 budget,
 o Checks the cohesion between the general studies and the specifications,
 o Checks the compliance with various codes (security, safety, airport regulation,
 construction…) as per Country and/or Client’s requirement,
 o Ensures project management quality assurance,
 o Ensures production quality regarding drawings and all contractual documents, including
 material submittals, in respect of the delays,
 o May be called for specialist advice, diagnostics, expertise recommendations and solutions
 on airport installations and other existing buildings types.
 CONSTRUCTION STAGE
 <ul>
<li>Coordinates with other Technical Consultant’s Engineers,</li>
<li>Coordinates with the Contractors technical issues,</li>
<li>Works on the required site modifications, prepares and submits Variation Order to the Client’s</li>
</ul>
approval, issues Engineer’s Instructions and answers the contractors’ technical requests.
 <ul>
<li>Is in charge of all types of verifications:</li>
</ul>
o Prepares technical comments on non-conformity reports, instruction request and material
 approvals that will be transmitted to the Construction Manager via the Resident Engineer
 for validation,
 o Reviews all documents related to construction work, such as but not limited to: shop
 drawings, as-built documentation, method of statements, materials submittals, mock-ups,
 calculation notes, etc…
 o Alerts in case of claims and advise the Contract Adviser for answering claims,
 o Checks the production and construction quality on site,
 o Checks manufacturing of devices (including validation of prototype).
 <ul>
<li>Supervises the all construction work stages:</li>
</ul>
o Supervises installation, commissioning, testing, punch listing and training,
 o Controls the progress of works (building site follow-up, execution plans control…through
 site visit),
 o Attends site meetings with the client, contractors, subcontractors and/or suppliers,
 o Supervises inspectors.
  Profile Specifications – Minimum Requirements
 <ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in a Structural Engineering or Similar.</li>
<li>10-15 years structural design experience of concrete and steel structures with Internationl</li>
</ul>
Consultancy firm.
 <ul>
<li>Experience in Airport projects is preferred.</li>
<li>Good knowledge and working experience in related structural design analysis software</li>
</ul>
( Etabs, Safe , Sap2000, Robot).
 <ul>
<li>Good knowledge of structural international standard ASCE-7, IBC, ACI-318, AISC-360, EN-BS.</li>
<li>Have experience in the GCC.</li>
<li>Dubai Municipality Approved or Certified (G + 12) mandatory</li>
<li>Society of Engineers Dubai membership and Abu Dhabi Engineering license - mandatory</li>
<li>Document and Specification Authoring</li>
<li>Logical approach to problem solving</li>
<li>Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications : DOC,XLS,PPT,MPP,VSD</li>
<li>Proficiency in communication skills : English</li>

Lead Engineer Structure

<div>Job Title: STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
1 Mission
Perform structural design for concrete and steel structures (Airport Buildings) using International standards American, British and similar along with the local regulations. 


The Structural Engineer develops structure design in coordination with other trades working on the projects he/she is involved. He/she coordinates with the clients and Stakeholders, the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and other Consulting Engineers at any phase of the project as well as the Contractors during the construction stage.
On site, the Structure Engineer will execute submittals review, supervises the procurement, installation, witness testings on site and factory when applicable within is discipline perimeter. 

2 Line and Staff Relations

This role will report directly to Department Leader / Line Manger

He/She works with:

The Structure Engineer will report to the Structure Department Leader and/or Production Director for line management support and projects instructions. 


In supervision stage, the Structure Engineer will take directions from the appointed Resident Engineer, and will give direction to assigned inspectors/surveyors when assigned to projects. 


As part of his/her mission, the Structure Engineer may be in functional contact with:

The Client or the delegated contracting authority,</li>
<li>

3 Key Responsibilities

STRUCTURAL DESIGN: 
 
<ul><li> 
Produce structural design documents for all design stages from concept up to design completion stage, to high level of quality ensuring that all design work complies with the relevant technical standards, quality standards and local authorities rules &amp; regulations.</li>
<li> 
Perform structural design and analysis calculations using International Codes and Standards such as American, British, and regional regulations.</li>
<li> 
Develop Structural design documents using REVIT and AutoCAD and other relevant structural software.
</li><li> 
Monitoring structural draftsmen production and/or sub-consultants deliverables in terms of quality, contractual conformity, content and planning.</li>
<li> 
Coordinate work with other disciplines such as but not limited to architecture, MEPs, airport special systems, etc.</li>
<li> 
Making the necessary decisions and recommendations based on projects nature and requirements and report to the department leader about the results.
</li><li> 
Provide support for elaboration of BOQs and PTE</li>
<li> 
Ensure proper controls, i.e. QA/QC and content compliance vs contract obligations prior submission, including for sub-consultants production as per their contract obligations</li>
<li> 
Prepare engineering reports and presentations</li>
<li> 
Any other task requested by his/her line manager within his/her field of expertise</li>
</ul>
CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION 
<ul><li>
Coordinates with other technical Consultant&rsquo;s Engineers</li>
<li> 
Coordinates technical issues with the Contractors</li>
<li> 
Is in charge of all types of submittals review:
<ul>
<li> 
Reviews and verifies compliance with design and specifications, all documents submittals related to construction works such as but not limited to: shop drawings, method of statements, materials submittals, mock-ups, calculation notes, factories visits, as-built documentation etc&hellip; vs contractual requirements, design and specifications</li>
<li>

4 Profile Specifications &ndash; Minimum Requirements 
<ul>
<li> 
Bachelor's degree in a Structural Engineering or Similar.</li>
<li> 
10 years structural design experience of concrete and steel structures with International Consultancy firm, out of which 5 years experience with airport buildings design or commercial buildings.
</li><li> 
UAE Society of Engineers membership is a must 
</li>
<li>Abu Dhabi Engineering license with 10 years min is a must
</li><li> 
Dubai Municipality Approved or Certified (G + 12) will be valued.
</li><li> 
PE Certification will be valued.
</li><li> 
Good knowledge of structural International and Regional Codes and Standards and Regulations (ASCE-7, IBC, ACI-318, AISC-360, EN-BS, etc&hellip;)</li>
<li> 
Excellent knowledge and working experience in related structural design analysis software (Etabs, Safe , Sap2000, Robot, etc&hellip;).</li>
<li> 
Good supervision experience for large airport or commercial projects.
</li><li> 
Knowledge on geotechnical engineering</li>
<li> 
Excellent skills in AutoCAD and BIM software such as BIM/REVIT and other design software as applicable for Structure Engineering design perimeter.</li>
<li> 
Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio)</li>
