Medical Assistant / Scribe Summary To assist all Physicians and patients as a Medical Assistant/Scribe in orthopedic care on a daily basis. Full Time\YEAR ROUND position. Summer only not available.Medical Assistant / Scribe Responsibilities<ul><li>Oversee and ensure efficient turnover of exam rooms.</li><li>Maintain exam rooms in a neat and clean manner at all times.</li><li>Comply with patient needs at all times.</li><li>Escort patients from waiting room to examination rooms.</li><li>Remove dressings, casts, and provide patients with gowns as necessary.</li><li>Ensure patient charts contain all pertinent information and are placed in designated areas for Physicians' use.</li><li>Alert Physicians of patients' allergies prior to beginning exams.</li><li>Assist Physicians with injections, aspirations, castings and/or other procedures as necessary.</li><li>Monitor supply levels, and replace as needed.</li><li>Instruct patients regarding information needed once they leave the office to include: use of braces or crutches, medication usage, cast care instructions</li><li>Home exercise programs</li><li>Photocopy information given to patients, and place copies in appropriate charts.</li><li>Apply knowledge of sterile techniques and OSHA regulations.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li></ul>Medical Assistant / Scribe Skills<ul><li>Team player attitude</li><li>Organizational skills</li><li>Detail oriented</li><li>Strong customer service skills</li><li>Ability to multi-task</li><li>Ability to resolve conflict</li><li>Professionalism</li><li>Time management</li><li>Written &amp; oral communication skills</li><li>Reading skills</li><li>Word processing and internet software</li><li>Typing 35-40 wpm</li></ul>Education and Experience<ul><li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>CPR Certification</li><li>First Aid Certification</li></ul>Medical Assistant / Scribe Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
