About This Role
This role will be responsible for the effective rebuilding, repair and refurbishment of process plant mechanical equipment, including gearboxes, pumps, valves, fabricated and welded components and machined parts with the objective of reducing rework and enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Supervise and carry out the overhaul, rebuilding, and repair of process plant mechanical equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, valves and bearing installations.</li><li>
Diagnose complex mechanical faults and determine the appropriate scope and method of repair.</li><li>
Read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals, schematics and blueprints to guide maintenance and repair activities.</li><li>
Inspect, test, and adjust equipment after rebuilding or repair to ensure compliance with operational and performance standards.</li><li>
Comply fully with AGBL's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, and demonstrate safety leadership in all work activities. 
</li><li>Maintain sound knowledge of AGBL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards and guidelines and ensure adherence to them. 
</li><li>Actively participate in and promote AGBL's continuous improvement programs. 
</li><li>Provide subordinates with the necessary training, skills, knowledge and tools to perform their duties safely and effectively. 
</li><li>Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and corporate requirements, and report any non‑compliance to management. 
</li><li>Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented within agreed timelines</li><li>
Perform other work‑related duties as assigned from time to time.</li></ul>
Education, Work Experience &amp; Key Competencies 
<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or an equivalent qualification.</li><li>
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor with demonstrated experience in plant maintenance activities, preferably within a metallurgical or mineral processing plant environment. Experience should include component rebuilding, fabrication, and equipment assembly and disassembly.</li><li>
Possession of a valid Mechanical Technician Certificate of Competency issued by the Minerals Commission of Ghana.</li><li>
Proven knowledge and practical experience in risk management and loss prevention processes.</li><li>
Proven experience in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and sound knowledge of asset management principles. 
</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multicultural teams.</li><li>
Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities, with capacity to assess risk, interpret technical data and make informed, data‑driven decisions.</li></ul></div>

About This Role
This role will be responsible for identifying, assessing and controlling workplace health hazards, the Hygiene Officer conducts exposure monitoring, interprets sampling results, ensures regulatory compliance and recommends corrective actions while preparing technical reports under the supervision of safety and hygiene specialists.
Key Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Review and assess industrial hygiene programmes, plans, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and site requirements, and provide guidance to employees and supervisors on legal obligations, risk assessment, and risk mitigation.</li><li>
Conduct regular site inspections and field walks to verify adherence to industrial hygiene standards and best practices.</li><li>
Evaluate documentation, risk assessments, and operating procedures to support effective development, implementation, and readiness of industrial hygiene programmes at site facilities.</li><li>
Carry out occupational hygiene surveys, identify and evaluate health risks, compile and analyze data, and prepare detailed reports and presentations for management review.</li><li>
Collect and analyze samples and data from kitchens, canteens and operational areas to assess employee exposure to physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards.</li><li>
Collaborate closely with the Corporate Industrial Hygienist to interpret exposure monitoring results and determine health risks using scientific and regulatory benchmarks.</li><li>
Recommend and support the implementation of effective exposure control measures, including engineering controls, improved work practices, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and evaluate their ongoing effectiveness.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to design, implement and monitor workplace health and hygiene control strategies.</li><li>
Prepare clear and accurate reports on investigations, audits, and inspections, ensuring proper documentation and record‑keeping.</li><li>
Lead the effective implementation of routine and scheduled health surveillance programmes and investigate identified work‑related health and hygiene concerns.</li><li>
Review PPE specifications to ensure quality standards are met and promote proper use and maintenance across the site.</li><li>
Perform additional duties related to industrial hygiene and workplace health as assigned by management.</li><li>
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.</li></ul>
Education, Work Experience &amp; Key Competencies
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related physical or biological science with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in mining or heavy industrial environments; or High School Certificate with a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years relevant industrial experience.</li><li>
Ongoing or completed studies in a recognized and accredited Industrial/Occupational Hygiene certification programme will be an advantage.</li><li>
Possession of NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health and Safety is desirable.</li><li>
Must hold a Minerals Commission HSE Officer Certificate of Competency.</li><li>
Valid Ghanaian Class B Driver's License is required.</li><li>
Strong working knowledge of Ghanaian health and safety legislation, particularly the Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2182) and related legislative instruments.</li><li>
Sound understanding of Safety Management Systems, risk management and loss prevention processes.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge of mining operations and associated occupational health risks.</li><li>
Ability to think critically, manage multiple tasks effectively and maintain strong attention to detail.</li><li>
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare procedures, policies, technical reports, and official correspondence.</li><li>
Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply operating instructions, procedures, policies, and legislative documents.</li><li>
Practical experience in the use of industrial hygiene and exposure monitoring equipment to assess potential workplace health hazards.</li></ul></div>
