The Service Technician-Trailer provides repairs, maintenance and care for the customer’s equipment which shall be of the highest possible standard of quality.
 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (This is a list of essential job duties but is not intended to be exhaustive. Other duties may be added or removed at management discretion. Technical proficiency and teamwork: 
1. Obtain and maintain Class A certification. Attend hands-on classes as required.
 2. Strive for a 90% or higher proficiency average.
 3. Conduct self in a professional manner while demonstrating a strong work ethic.
 4. Perform repairs correctly and efficiently.
 5. Disassemble and reassemble in proper sequence so that another tech can easily follow your work.
 6. Foster the Service “Team” attitude by interacting with others in a positive manner.
 7. Ability to work daily and overtime as required.
 8. Ability to assist in other work-related areas as requested.
 
Technical support and development: 
1. Review customer’s concerns and recent service history to gain a greater understanding of the vehicle complaint and concerns.
 2. Communicate professionally with team members and customers.
 3. Obtain required information and documentation to initiate and successfully file warranty claims.
 
Customer satisfaction: 
1. Perform a courtesy inspection of every vehicle.
 2. Communicate any repair/preventative maintenance needed which is not noted on the work order. Always identify the three “C’s” – Complaint, Cause, Correction.
 3. Determine necessary parts needed to complete repairs in a timely manner.
 4. Verify all service work has been performed and completed with the highest possible standard of quality.
 
Communication: 
1. Advocate open communications between shift technicians and your supervisor to ensure an efficient flow of information.
 
Compliance: 
1. Promote a safe (i.e. eye protection, etc.) and clean work environment.
 2. Ability to be insurable, drive a vehicle, and obtain and maintain a CDL (if required by location) with appropriate endorsements.
 3. Promote the proper use, care and storage of company tools and equipment.

OVERVIEW: 
Ascendance is looking for an experienced, full-time Service Technician. This role is responsible for providing service to our customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. Duties can include cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments. Installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning. The successful team member has at least five years of fleet, dealership, and/or technical school experience.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment</li>
<li>Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures</li>
<li>Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined</li>
<li>Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed</li>
<li>Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly</li>
<li>Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk</li>
<li>Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins</li>
<li>Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction</li>
</ul>
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul>
<li>5+ years fleet or dealership experience</li>
</ul>
LICENSES/EDUCATION/TRAINING: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent is required</li>
<li>ASE certification preferred</li>
<li>CDL preferred</li>
</ul>
