<div>A Dentist in this position will perform clinical dentistry and provide instruction regarding clinical dentistry for undergraduate dental hygiene and dental assisting students, and local anesthetic delivery for dental hygiene students. This individual must possess the knowledge and skills to teach and supervise students in clinical settings.</div>

<div><div><b>Duties
</b></div><div>1. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the program.<br>
2. Review, critique and evaluate x-rays for students, especially pathology consultation.<br>
3. Provide dental care for a variety of patients within the Dental Clinic.<br>
4. Supervise students in clinical environments incorporating knowledge, expertise and flexibility to ensure safety and student learning.<br>
5. Collaborate with departmental personnel in curriculum revisions/updates which reflect changing trends, information and technologies and ensure compliance with the Standards of the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, the Department of Community Colleges approved standards for the curriculum and the Criteria of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.<br>
6. Abide by policies, standards, goals and objectives of the College and Department<br>
7. Seek opportunities for professional development.<br>
8. Serve as a resource to the dental community and community at large.<br>
9. Perform additional duties as assigned by Department Chairperson.<br>

<div><div><b>Minimum Requirements</b></div>
<div>1. Graduate of an accredited dental program.<br>
2. Minimum of five years&rsquo; work experience as a clinical dentist.<br>
3. North Carolina Dental License.<br>
4. Current Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification.<br>
5. DEA license.<br>

<div>1. Experience working in a community college environment.</div>
