Job Summary 
 
Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) is seeking a full-time Designer/Drafter for our New England offices. Flexibility is available for remote/hybrid work environment (Fully remote options can be considered for well-qualified candidates, however those within commutable distance of the office are preferred). 
 
Job Description:<ul><li>
Perform Computer Aided Drafting and/or Design</li><li>
Assist with Computer-Aided Drafting Quality Control</li><li>
Create, edit and design electrical, structural and/or control drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software to include, but not limited to One-Line diagrams, Three-Line Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, Panel Front Views, Control House layouts, as well as physical and civil yard layout drawings.</li><li>
Learn internal company and external client drafting standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations</li><li>
Coordinate and assist Engineers with plans &amp; specifications development, collaborate on design issues, incorporate concepts and information into CAD drawing packages for utility power delivery projects.</li><li>
Assist Project Managers and Engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.</li><li>
Attend job meetings &amp; coordinate activities as required</li><li>
Attend training as requested to further enhance your duties</li><li>
Complete and submit weekly paperwork</li></ul> 
 
Requirements: 
 
Required Education/Experience<ul><li>
Must be 18 years of age or older.</li><li>
Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship</li><li>
Associate's/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, Computer Aided Architectural Drafting and Design program, technical school in Electrical Engineering or sufficient industry experience</li><li>
(Or) 3+ year drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment</li><li>
Must have working knowledge of CAD standards and drafting best practices and methods</li><li>
Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members</li></ul> 
 
Desired Education/Experience<ul><li>
5+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in utility infrastructure or substation design</li><li>
Experience with CAD image integration such as Autodesk Raster Design and/or Bentley Descartes</li><li>
Construction or Utility experience - interpreting utility and/or substation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings</li><li>
Experience working with scaled drawings</li><li>
Working knowledge of survey coordinate systems</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel</li><li>
Experience with BlueBeam Revu (or alternative PDF editor software)</li><li>
Experience with ProjectWise File Management System</li><li>
Reliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks</li><li>
Familiarization of basic engineering principles and practical design solutions</li><li>
Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail
</li><li>Self-starter who can work with little or no supervision, strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn and adapt quickly</li></ul> 
 
License &amp; Certifications:<ul><li>
Driver License preferred, but not required.</li></ul>

Summary 
The Designer Position will support utility project engineers and project managers in the planning, engineering, and design of electric distribution projects. Under the guidance of PM and/or Engineer, the Designer will make site visits, take measurements, use structural programs, and utilize various utility programs and data centers in support of these projects, ensuring projects are designed to current utility, federal and state standards. This candidate will be responsible for taking projects from inception (scope of work) and see them through to construction (as built). Site visits are required; locations will be in the northern territory of WA state. Under the guidance of a PM and/or Engineer, the designer assists in coordination and communication tasks with other departments such as Drafting, Real Estate, Environmental, Permitting, System Planning, ETC. 
 
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Apply various engineering and design methods to ensure quality deliverables for the customer.</li><li>
Conducts site visits, take measurements, utilize various utility programs /data centers in support of these projects, ensuring projects are designed to current utility, federal and state standards.</li><li>
Identifies the scope of an assigned project and decides logical action to meet project requirements and deadlines.</li><li>
Facilitates communication between service providers and internal/external customers, which may include technical support in the direction of a project manager.</li><li>
Responds to customer concerns and collaborates with appropriate parties for resolution.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul> 

Qualifications<ul><li>
Experience managing multiple projects.</li><li>
Strong communication skills, strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills for single of multiple technical areas, critical thinking skills.</li><li>
Knowledge of utility methods, techniques and procedures involved in distribution design.</li><li>
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to work as part of a team.</li><li>
Customer-oriented, a positive, collaborative, and collaborative attitude, flexibility, and understanding complex technical design plans.</li></ul> 

Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>
Designer: 0-3 years&rsquo; relevant work experience OR bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering, Design, or related discipline.

Project Manager 
A Project Manager (PM) with Asplundh Engineering Services will be responsible for overseeing, supervising, planning, and coordinating the management of specific project tasks. The project manager will coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside consultants/vendors agencies, and the general public. A hybrid schedule will be required at assigned regional client locations. 
 
 
Project Manager Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Manage multiple projects with varying team members</li><li>
Work with Clients, Business Development Staff, Managers and Engineers to coordinate project designs</li><li>
Work with existing clients and new prospects to identify business opportunities</li><li>
Prepare engineering, equipment and EPC proposals and fee estimates</li><li>
Prepare management reports for internal and external use</li><li>
Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and personnel</li><li>
Provide technical insight for alternate solutions to projects and project execution</li><li>
Utilize basic engineering principles and practical design solutions for scope development</li><li>
Quality control of projects managed and peer review if required</li><li>
Manage billing of projects and coordinate with AP/AR</li><li>
Time management to deliver projects on time and within budget</li><li>
Work with sub-consultant(s) to coordinate trades</li><li>
Lead project meetings, attend onsite job meetings, &amp; coordinate activities as required</li><li>
Performs other project management related duties as assigned</li><li>
Complete and submit weekly paperwork (e.g. Timesheets, Expense Reports, etc.)</li></ul> 

Minimum Requirements/Experience:<ul><li>
Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>

Demonstrate experience in coordinating and leading teams</li><li>
