What You&rsquo;ll Do
As Principal Engineer, PE you&rsquo;re not just designing projects &mdash; you&rsquo;re influencing strategy, guiding teams, and shaping the next generation of engineers. You&rsquo;ll lead complex engineering initiatives, serve as a senior technical voice, and support local staff development.
This is a senior-level position that includes supervisory responsibilities for engineering staff in our Chippewa Falls, WI office, therefore fully remote work is not an option.
 How You Will Make an Impact<ul><li>
Lead conceptual engineering, scope development, cost estimating, and schedule creation for proposals and major design efforts.</li><li>
Collaborate with clients to develop project requirements, design packages, and contract documents tailored to site‑specific needs.</li><li>
Oversee advanced engineering activities including:<ul><li>
Physical design of substations, transmission lines, cable systems, utilization systems, and renewable energy facilities.</li><li>
Protection &amp; Control design, including relay settings and coordination.</li><li>
SCADA and automation system design, specification, implementation, and commissioning.</li><li>
Equipment specifications, procurement support, and factory acceptance testing.</li><li>
Power system modeling, system studies, and data analysis.</li><li>
Contract development, bid evaluations, and design review processes.</li><li>
Provide senior‑level project management, including budgeting, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>
Coordinate multidiscipline design efforts across internal teams and external partners.</li><li>
Lead implementation of new processes, engineering tools, and emerging technologies.</li><li>
Deliver training, mentorship, and performance input for engineering staff.</li><li>
Support construction phases through field engineering, issue resolution, and technical guidance.</li><li>
Drive business development efforts, maintaining strong client relationships and supporting proposals and presentations.</li><li>
Represent EPS Engineering Services at industry conferences, committees, and professional forums.</li><li>
Perform quality reviews across projects to ensure technical excellence and compliance.</li></ul>

What You&rsquo;ll Need to Be Successful<ul><li>
B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited).</li><li>
10&ndash;15+ years of progressive engineering experience.</li><li>
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.</li><li>
Expertise in NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.</li><li>
Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills.</li><li>
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges.</li><li>
Ability to work on-site in Chippewa Falls, WI (supervisory requirement).</li><li>
Up to 30% travel may be required depending on project assignments.</li></ul>
