<p>
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician PLC to join a large-scale manufacturing operation in Chicago. This role focuses on electrical troubleshooting, PLC systems, and instrumentation to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.</p>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Responsibilities</b></h3>
<ul>
<li><p>Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, PLCs, control panels, relays, breakers, communication systems, and alarms.</p></li>
<li><p>
Install and commission electrical equipment with minimal supervision.</p></li>
<li><p>
Diagnose problems, replace faulty components, and perform advanced wiring assignments.</p></li>
<li><p>
Support and troubleshoot VFDs, 3-phase motors, and sensors (temperature, pressure, level).</p></li>
<li><p>
Provide technical assistance to junior maintenance staff.</p></li>
<li><p>
Follow all safety and sanitation protocols in a food-grade, unionized environment.</p></li>
</ul>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Requirements</b></h3>
<ul>
<li><p>High School Diploma or GED plus formal apprenticeship or equivalent.</p></li>
<li><p>
Minimum 3 years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience.</p></li>
<li><p>
Strong electrical background with proven PLC troubleshooting ability.</p></li>
<li><p>
Ability to wire/test 3-phase motors and calibrate industrial sensors.</p></li>
</ul>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></h3>
<ul>
<li><p>PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).</p></li>
<li><p>
Control panel installation and troubleshooting.</p></li>
<li><p>
Experience with sanitary or hazardous process instrumentation in food or consumer goods facilities.</p></li>
</ul>
<p>You should be proficient in:</p>
<ul>
<li>Creating Preventive Maintenance Plans</li>
<li>Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills</li>
<li>120/208/240/480 Voltage Systems</li>
<li>Electrical Installation</li>
<li>Electrical Troubleshooting</li>
<li>Electrical Repair</li>
<li>OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)</li>
<li>Pneumatics Troubleshooting</li>
<li>Machine Safety Inspections</li>
</ul>
<p>Machines &amp; technologies you'll use:</p>
<ul>
<li>Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)</li>
<li>Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Modicon)</li>
<li>Conveyor Systems (Dematic, Hytrol, Alba, Wulftec)</li>
