ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the direction and supervision of the Department Production Manager and in cooperation with the Production Supervisor and Production Lead, weld metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate, and/or repair heavy and large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule.
Key Deliverables<ul><li>Adhere to all safety rules and perform work at a quality level</li><li>Read and understand assigned blueprints prior to starting a project.</li><li>Participate in process and product development and improvement programs.</li><li>Accurately inspect metal prior to welding to ensure clean welds.</li><li>Perform grinding operations that comply with Astec&rsquo;s standards.</li></ul>
Key Activities &amp; Responsibilities<ul><li>Ability to perform grinding and be able to pass a required welding skills test.</li><li>Necessary to be able to do all Grinder tasks.</li><li>Must be able to safely perform gang-welding techniques (dos and don&rsquo;ts).</li><li>Must be able to safely weld vertical, flat, and overhead with both MiG and stick.</li><li>Must inspect metal prior to welding for smoothness and acceptability and clean welds to presentable state (grinding operations).</li><li>Must work with Fitters on proper assembly of equipment.</li><li>Keep work area clean and neat.</li><li>Clock in on assigned jobs as appropriate.</li><li>Ensure welding machine settings are appropriate for work to be performed.</li><li>Must be able to safely use cranes and forklifts.</li><li>Must be trained in and know PPE requirements for welding including hood and filter shades and arm/body protection.</li></ul><div>

What We Need from You: 
 
<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED preferred.</li><li>1 Year of Welding experience required.</li><li>Must have successful weld and bend test.</li><li>Heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.</li><li>Ability to properly and safely MIG weld and arc gouging required.</li><li>Understanding and ability to read weld symbols, blueprints, and company drawings required.</li><li>Ability to understand and read a tape measure required.</li><li>Experience operating various hand, power, and hydraulic tools desired.</li><li>Experience operating forklifts, overhead hoists, and cranes desired.</li><li>Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse and locate and open/close programs/files.</li></ul></div><ul><li>Must be able to read and understand weld symbols.</li><li>Must maintain welding machines by keeping them clean and changing liners in the welding guns.</li><li>Follows company policies and procedures at all times.</li><li>Follows proper safety rules and procedures at all times.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li><li>0-1 Year of Welding experience required.</li><li>Heavy equipment manufacturing experience preferred</li><li>Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse and locate and open/close programs/files.</li><li>Knowledge and ability to perform all Grinder tasks required.</li><li>Ability to properly and safely MiG weld, stick weld, and arc gouging required.</li><li>Ability to read and understand weld symbols required.</li></ul>

Welder - Evening Shift

ABOUT THE POSITION
Sales Director will be responsible for their respective regional sales execution for all product lines within the Astec Materials Solutions Group, as defined. This position will also manage regional sales personnel and collaborate with all functional areas to promote our products through a multi-channel network. 
Location: Remote 
Key Deliverables<ul><li> Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.</li><li> Manage regional sales personnel.</li><li> Monitor products of competitors.</li><li> Deliver sales presentations to key clients.</li><li> Evaluates sales team performance and areas of improvement.</li></ul> 
Key Activities &amp; Responsibilities<ul><li> Manage regional sales personnel to grow market share and sales volume
</li><li> Establish annual sales goals for defined regions with respective Sales &amp; Marketing team</li><li> Provide potential sales activity within defined regions to ensure effective forecasting</li><li> Provide guidance to group on market pricing
</li><li> Work with Sales &amp; Marketing team to implement initiatives, as well as strategic goals within the Astec Materials Solutions Group.</li><li> Manage and review effectiveness of field sales operations. Construct and implement any necessary operational changes</li><li> Assist with onboarding and development of prospective distribution channels</li><li> Evaluate distributors on their field sales performance and provide recommendations to support successful execution of established sales plan and growth strategies</li><li> Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Regional Sales Managers.</li><li> Stays current with technology affecting asphalt plant and road building industry. Monitors products of competitors.</li><li> Participates in staff meetings and other meetings related to the company and department.</li><li> Interacts with other Astec departments to ensure customer satisfaction.</li><li> Analyzes and controls expenditures of domestic sales department to conform to budget requirements.</li><li> Participates in advertising decisions and supervises the Advertising department.</li><li> Prepares appropriate sales reports for management showing sales volume, customer information, potential sales, and other related reports to assist Astec.</li><li> Adheres to and promotes company core values to all associates. Projects a positive company image by interacting with fellow associates, customers, and corporate management in a cooperative, supportive and courteous manner</li><li> Serves as a member of committees and/or focus groups.</li><li> Follows supports and enforces all company policies and safety rules.</li></ul> 
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:<ul><li> Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a relevant field is preferred or equivalent business experience</li><li> A minimum of five years of career experience in sales management, including a minimum of three years in a leadership position is preferred</li><li> Basic understanding of pricing theories, financial policies, budgeting, sales and marketing is required</li><li> Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration, negotiation, and leadership skills</li><li> Ability to travel overnight and work long hours is required. Overseas travel may be required; necessary to obtain and maintain a passport is required</li></ul>
