ASTRO ELECTROPLATING

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations and QA, conducting tests, and ensuring the accuracy of results. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques, as well as the ability to analyze data effectively. The Laboratory Technician will work in various settings.Duties<ul><li>Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments following established protocols.</li><li>Analyze samples using various laboratory techniques and equipment.</li><li>Prepare and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment for use.</li><li>Document results accurately and maintain detailed records of experiments.</li><li>Assist in the development of new research methodologies and procedures.</li><li>Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.</li><li>Prepare, maintain, and analyze electroplating baths, ensuring optimal chemical composition.</li><li>Conduct routine lab tests (e.g., pH, conductivity, titrations, surface tension) and adjust chemical levels as needed.</li><li>Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.</li><li>Assist in troubleshooting plating defects and process inconsistencies.</li><li>Perform basic QA inspections to verify plating thickness, adhesion, and overall quality.</li><li>Document and report test results, corrective actions, and lab findings.</li><li>Follow safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals in compliance with environmental regulations.</li><li>Basic experience with thickness measurement, thermocycling, CASS testing, chemical bath testing, and wastewater treatment analysis for heavy metals.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Strong analytical skills to interpret data effectively.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Experience: Prior experience in an electroplating lab; some QA experience preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with analytical techniques (titration, spectroscopy, etc.) and plating defects.</li><li>Understanding quality control standards and inspection tools (micrometers, XRF, etc.).</li><li>Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.</li><li>Knowledge of safety protocols related to hazardous chemicals and electroplating operations.</li></ul>Join our team as a Laboratory Technician where you can contribute to meaningful research and support vital laboratory functions!Job Type: Full-timePay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hourWork Location: In person
