<div>Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Buyer Planner to join our diverse and cohesive Supply Chain Management Team in Kirkland, WA.
JOB SUMMARY
Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Buyer/Planner applies company standards, policies, procedures, and best practices in performing the following:
<ul><li>Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases, primarily with established suppliers.</li>
<li>Reviews and interprets MRP and other sales order output to ensure appropriate inventory requirements are planned and changes are implemented.</li>
<li>Responds to purchase requisitions.</li>
<li>Resolves invoicing, documentation, scheduling and quality discrepancies.</li>
<li>Creates and maintains vendor and item cards in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems.</li>
<li>Ensures material quality standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized.</li>
<li>Gathers quotations, examines bids and places purchase orders within authorized spend and guidelines. Ensures flow-down of requirements.</li>
<li>Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.</li>
<li>Monitors and tracks vendor performance and internally escalates on non-performance concerns.</li>
<li>May support periodic supplier business reviews (SBR).</li>
<li>Monitors inventory levels of assigned commodities and parts, suggesting changes to order point levels and order quantities to optimize inventory investment.</li>
<li>All other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree from four-year college and/or a combination of certifications (APICS and/or CPSM) and/ or 2-5 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment.</li>
<li>Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma a plus.</li>
<li>Demonstrates familiarity in the essential functions of the position including:
<ul><li>Supplier management</li>
<li>Purchase Order lifecycle management</li>
<li>Supplier quality</li>
</ul></li><li>Manufacturing environment in a related industry preferred.</li>
</ul>

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
<ul><li>As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

</li></ul>Base salary range for the Buyer/Planner is $29.14 - $43.71. Mid-point is $36.42/hour.

Buyer/Planner (2026-024)

<div>Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.
We are adding a Buyer II to our great team. To be successful in this role you will have experience in a manufacturing environment in a highly regulated industry. Ideally you have experience with customer-directed spend purchasing and sourcing in adherence to the federal acquisition regulations. Our buyers purchase a wide range of items from raw materials like resin pellets and metal ingots to custom fabricated metals, adhesives, screws, and outsourced processes like powder coating or machining. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Prepares and monitors purchase orders and procures materials to support production plans; interacts with Planners, Production/Assembly, Engineering, Suppliers and subcontractors to ensure procurement of materials within approved schedules and quality specifications.</li>
<li>Takes charge in managing supplier relationship for purchased materials and subcontracted processes.</li>
<li>Provides input to and execution of supplier contracts including Long Term Agreements, Tooling Agreements, and capital equipment purchases.</li>
<li>Creates and implements special purchasing programs with company suppliers including Kanban, JIT delivery, bread man systems, outsourcing, etc.</li>
<li>Monitors material levels and status of materials; reviews for excess inventory and coordinates scrap and / or resell back to suppliers.</li>
<li>Advises Planning of delays and works to resolve material shortage issues. Finds long-term solutions to reduce expedites and premium freight.</li>
<li>May perform cost analysis on manufactured and purchased parts.</li>
<li>Provides input on supplier performance evaluation.</li>
<li>May travel to current and prospective suppliers; travel can include domestic and international destinations up to 1 week per quarter.</li>
<li>Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly. Ensures that all inventory items are purchased from Approved Sources.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, &amp; Experiences:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business or related field preferred.</li>
<li>Three years production purchasing experience as a Buyer, in a manufacturing environment.</li>
<li>Knowledge of lean / throughput techniques and MRP theory and concepts.</li>
<li>ASCM and/or ISM certification preferred.</li>
<li>Excellent oral and written skills.</li>
<li>Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities</li>
<li>Ability to work in team environment.</li>
<li>Proven experience in using MRP to manage inventory and minimize production down-time.</li>
<li>Skill with Microsoft Office software including advanced Excel, Word, and presentation graphics.</li></ul>

In this role you will be working in a complex manufacturing environment. To be most successful in this role you will need to have extensive experience in a highly regulated industry evaluating potential suppliers and creating long term relationships. You will have experience purchasing highly integrated electromechanical assemblies such as PCBAs and wire harness assemblies. The nature of our industry and this role requires sourcing discreet components for legacy products.Primary Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepares and monitors purchase orders and procures materials to support production plans; interacts with Planners, Production/Assembly, Engineering, Suppliers and subcontractors to ensure procurement of materials within approved schedules and quality specifications.</li><li>Evaluate, establish, nurture, and maintain stable working relationships with suppliers.</li><li>Create and execute material plans and sourcing strategies</li><li>Conduct on-site audits and supplier business reviews</li><li>Work on the new product introduction (NPI) team</li><li>Identify and mitigate potential parts shortages.</li><li>Communicate quality requirements to suppliers.</li><li>Determine and execute inventory strategy for specific components</li><li>Advises Planning of delays and works to resolve material shortage issues.
